I'm a left handed artist OwO fun fact is I can snap my fingers on my right hand but I can't with my left hand which is the one I draw with. I also have tiny hands which people tend to comment a lot on if I draw on camera.

I have gigantic hands, so I guess the world balances out in the end.

My poor left arm is a mess from over-drawing too, so I've been trying to do some of my comic sketching with my right...with little success so far. X__x Anyone else tried doing this for a similar reason?

Hand cramps? There are a lot of good hand stretches to help with this.

I'm technically ambidextrous, but at one school I went to, they hated that I was ambidextrous and forced me to use only one hand. I became left-handed from then on, and they still hated me for it.
Regardless, I still use a right-handed mouse. I'd be using my drawing tablet to draw, but I've gotten so used to drawing with a mouse that I practically forgot how drawing any other way is like.
Also, my left arm is stronger than my right.

I'm left-handed as well! I don't actually know a lot of left-handed people (only two, actually), and I've met one ambidextrous person. Though I've heard of quite a lot of left-handed artists.I think that also brings up the question of whether or not your dominant hand contributes to your abilities. I've tried drawing and writing with my right hand, but it always turns out awful >.<" I've read up a bit on the appearance of left-handedness in a right-hand world (we're the minority!) and in quite a few places it was looked down upon. For example, in the U. S., in the south it was looked down on especially if you were 'south-pawed' and it was also considered to be something like writing with the devil's hand. At least, according to Christian belief, I think. I always found that strange, so I wonder if in other parts of the world they had similar beliefs about lefties?

Wait, is this an early times fact or something? I'm not from the south but I am from the US and haven't heard of this...(doesn't mean you're wrong, that's just news to me). I have never been looked down upon for being left-handed, that certainly would've sucked! If anything I just got mild fascination for it and that's about it.

Even though I'm a lefty, I do use my right hand on my mouse, and use it a lot when drawing for things like shading and maybe tweaking, but I can't draw or write with it. I have just enough control with my right hand to tweak things. XD

Even though I am a left-handed artist my 'handedness' is kind of weird because some things I do use my right hand for. My right hand is the stronger one so it's better for say, throwing a ball, but my left hand is better for more precise things like writing & drawing. Also, back when I was way young and played Softball, neither side really felt right when I had to bat. What does this make me? Semi-ambidextrous? Just confused? XD

fun fact: in general, Lefties live a few years less than righties.

It's mostly pain in the crease of my arm/elbow area. I do arm and wrist stretches, wear an arm brace, ice the area, ect. which does help, but it just won't go away entirely. .__.

I'm left hand dominant but I was taught to write with my right in kindergarten (that's eastern North Carolina for ya). I learned to play guitar rightie because my dad had a right handed guitar but everything else I do is leftie. Any sports, eating, etc, all left. If feels pretty natural to hold a pen in my left, which makes me wonder if I'm a better artist for being taught to use my right or would I be a total virtuoso if I had stuck with the left.

It was an alternative school that I really hated, they were prejudiced towards lefties and the ambidextrous, and they also didn't believe that I was autistic, so they tried to pile abnormal loads of assignments just to see how mad I could get.
Fortunately, I wasn't there for very long, as I changed schools after my sister found out about what they were doing to me.

Left! and I have an identical twin who is a "mirror twin" which means everything is opposite so she's right handed. Makes me think its genetic to be left handed. otherwise we'd both be right handed because we would have been taught/forced that way.
I remember them trying to make me use my right hand.

Yah, I think the Latin root of the word "sinister" actually is "left". We were not seen as positive influences back then. And in South Asia, the left hand is the dirty hand that you use when going to the restroom... ^^;

I've always been a lefty, but I thought it would be cool to learn how to write with my right hand! Sadly, it never worked out. Still, I use my right hand for everything except writing and drawing.

I'm left handed too. The only real annoyance is the undo hot key. Which I changed from Ctrl+Z to then End key because I got tired of having to stop working to reach the hotkey. There are other hotkeys I've changed to the right side as well.
I do occasionally get a pain in my left arm if I don't draw for a while. It feels like my bones are getting pulled, it's not painful just weird. I also pop my left wrist all the time. I'm starting to get a bit worried because now it clicks. |:[

I've heard about lefties being forced to use their right hand but only in the past. I've never experienced it myself.

I'm left-handed as well. My mom tried to make me right-handed when i was little, but I wouldn't have it. The graphite smudging with pencils was always annoying growing up. Apparently, you're supposed to wear watches on the wrist that isn't your dominant one, but I've always felt more comfortable with it on my left wrist, which sometimes gets in the way of drawing/writing. Hard to find left-handed guitars too, i'll say that.

Oh I know, the graphite smudging was the worst!! And I always take off my watch when planning to work at my desk for a while.

Also a lefty who is not a fan of the graphite smudges. But I do most of my work digitally nowadays anyway. It's so weird to me how I have so much finesse with my left hand when it comes to drawing and writing and I can be super precise, but then I switch to my right hand and I feel like there's a magnet pulling my arm around and I physically can't draw even a circle.

I'm lefthanded yes I feel that my left hand is way stronger than my right hand after drawing and literally doing anything with it. The only thing I do with my right hand is using the mouse-

I draw and write with my left hand and I play guitar & upright bass like a right handed person would play it.
Screwdriver wouldn´t matter, right or left. Scissors with my right hand.

In Germany kids had to write with the right hand in school until the 1970s and it was a religious thing

I'm left handed for drawing, writing, holding a fork or spoon and pole vaulting. Everything else is a job for the right hand (and my right arm is much stronger).

I’m a lefty when it comes to drawing/writing and eating. But for the most part everything else feels more comfortable right handed
