Hey everybody,

I've been a bit of a lurker here for a while, I've been sneaking around looking for tips, inspiration and motivation for a comic that I've been planning for a while. I'm not ready to start yet but I'm hoping that getting more involved in a comic making community will give me the push I need.

To get there I was hoping to try two things:

1) I want to collab with a writer to make a short comic. If you have a story you want to tell that is 2-8 pages please let me know. I'm not really into things that are really dark or heavy, but beggars can't be choosers

2) Let me draw your characters! I'm hoping that the characters that you guys have created will inspire me to do the same.

I went on a deactivation spree a few months ago and deleted my DA accounts, so most of the stuff I can find already online is things I drew for people on Gaia in three hours or less. I really should have been more prepared for this kind of question. I'll see if there is anything work taking a photo of in my sketch books

What type of genre do you want to draw? By looking at your username it seems that you like shoujo so maybe a romance? I feel as though the writer and the drawer both have to have inspiration so I want to know beforehand because I am quite interested!

It would be totally cool if you drew my character but my book is a novel so you won't have any picture references. is that fine?

I'm pretty open in regards to what I am willing to draw, but I prefer (like my username indicates) romance, slice of life, some urban fantasy. Things that are very dark, gritty and serious just don't appeal to me as much. It seems that people around here prefer email, so feel free to contact me through the forums or at shoujobats@gmail.com so we can talk ideas.

And as long as you have a written description of your character I can work from that. No picture references required!

Short comic how so? I'm potentially interested because a friend's looking for work if she can get paid for it.

One of my characters is named Simon.
- He has really messy red hair
- A button nose
- sharp, brown eyes
- I would say his overall face looks like a fox
- when he smiles, there is a dimple on his cheeks
- he wears a light, linen shirt. It's long sleeved and it looks like the shirts from the old, medieval times, almost like a blouse.
- his pants and shoes are both brown.
- he's a mischievous character

And I will email you soon!

here you go:

I don't have any real color reference material, but the colors are more or less correct here (I'm sure I don't need to clarify, but Sabot is in the middle). The tattoo is a stick and poke (done when he was drunk nonetheless), so it doesn't have to look too clean or perfect.

I tend to write short horror stories, I know it's not exactly your type but if you're interested I'm here with 2 stories ready to be chosen
I also have a romance story in the works but I doubt it will be 8 pages short but if you are willing to try something longer, there is that

Sorry, my goal is to have something I know I will finish. Anything longer than 8 pages is really more than I have time for right now, and I'd super procrastinate on a horror story. Thanks for the offer though!

I have a plan and am working on something, but it involves things I'm not used to drawing so it might be a bit

Hey! I would love to see some fan art for my series 'Alive Again.' If you're interested let me know and I can share some of the character concepts with you. Or you can see a few of the bios on the Facebook page for the series: https://www.facebook.com/aliveagaincomic/3

I look forward to hearing from you!
