False Magic WC: 638
Rozkou strolled the marketplace; his eyes wide with curiosity and enlightenment. They were items of every since material here, from fruit to jewelry.
Only then did he spot something that was more than intriguing; at a stand a magician stood, his eyes darting around looking for unsuspecting victims. Rozkou wasnât sure why he got an odd feeling from the magician, but there was something wrong with him.
Cautiously Rozokou approached the small hut and peeked around at the items. Ahiko wouldnât be able to find him for another few minutes or so meaning he had a bit of time to spare. She was a lovely friend, but sometimes she was, well, overbearing beyond words.
âWhat are you looking for, lad?â The young magician asked as he approached Rozokou who was glancing at a line of necklaces laid out along a table. He looked at the sign and pondered for a moment whether it was true or something of falsehood. The sign read âEnchanted Necklaces, only two gold & three silver.â
Rozokou let out a contempt âhumphâ while fingers ran over one of the necklaces, searching for some sort of magical trace. One of his gifts was being able to sense magic from any item there was, and, without a doubt, there was not a single spec of magic trapped within the jewels of the necklaces. There was, very quickly, no doubt in his mind that this âmagicianâ was a big, fat, fraud. Yet, he didnât want to give away the truth as of yet; what would be the fun of that?
âWhat type of enhancements are on this one?â He pointed towards the necklace he previously touched with a large, red ruby sitting in the middle.
âGood eyeâ young one. That one is enhanced with luck and good fortune. Anyone wearing it will receive good luck whilst the necklace is on.â
Rozokou tried not to laugh as an unsuspecting victim made their way into the tent to also look at some of the jewelry. Only then did an irate Ahiko arrive into the tent, looking more than angry, utterly furious.
âRozokou where on godâs green earth have you been? I look away for one second, and, POOF, youâre gone! I am so done with this, letâs get home so you father can ---â
Rozokou quickly brought Ahiko to his side and brought his lips to her ear,â this guy is selling fake jewelry, do you want me to do something about it?â
âWait what?â Ahiko sputtered and Rozokou could only nod his head at the statement he last spoke. It was a mortal sin to lie, but to lie about magic? Consider it a taboo of a horrid caliber.
Rozokou lifted his eyebrow and Ahiko finally nodded her head, this time intrigued. He motioned for Ahiko to leave the tent and then gave a big smile, tapping on the âmagicianâs shoulder.
âThese are really magic enhanced, aye?â
âI worked hard on emâ yes, lad.â
Rozokou let out a bustling fit of laughter before noticing the small coins in the magicianâs hand, and the other person leaving with a ring in their hand. He let out a âtskâ before shaking his head. He despised frauds.
âWhat a shame it would be if,â Rozokou dragged the magician out of the hut, and they stood back. The man was confused, but Rozokou was, in fact, excited. He glazed to Ahiko who a confused tilt of the head,â burned down.â
With a snap of his fingers, flames lit up from underneath the tint, and the two young ones took off from the tent, giggling with excitement. The man tried to chase after them, but they were simply too fast to be caught.
âHowâd you know he was a fraud?â Ahiko said while sprinting.
âReal magicianâs never give away their secrets.â
