I have other special interests too like music theory, I play the piano, I have so many books about science and the human body. Of course art is one of them. Writing of course.

It’s just went I really like something I study it hard. It’s just how I am. Whether if I possibly am autistic or not. (I haven’t had an official diagnosis yet)

I was the same way with Star Wars when I was little I would not shut up about it or reference a quote. I remember getting hyperfixations on specific video games like Sonic and Qbert when I was like 8.

I think it’s a clear sign.

I think it's cool to be passionate about things. If we have nothing we're passionate about life gets pretty dull. I'm really passionate about poetry and writing, art and rock music lol.

wait, are you sad I like rock music or happy, I can't tell what those emojis mean. Yeah I love rock. Twenty One Pilots, One OK Rock, Skillet, Sleeping with Sirens etc. It's the reason why Kattar is such a rock music fan in "Damsel in the Red Dress" but I also like retro music as well, like "Never Too Much" by Luther Vandross, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You: by Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons, and crooners like Michael Buble, which inspired Alicia's music tastes. To be honest, I have TONS of interests, and so my different interests become parts of different ocs. I really like musical theater too, and cooking, which are the hobbies of my ML Dominic and his little sister in "A Dozen Morning Glories" and so on. The list goes on. Nearly all of my ocs have at least one of my hobbies in common with me lol, even the villains. (Pasha Kakaran from "Crystal Blue" loves the rain, and he also likes instrumental movie soundtracks even though they make him sad)

@abigaillmartin Def not annoying! Don’t worry about that, I think it’s endearing actually XD I’m always wondering the next time a Houdini fact will grace my screen. (Sorry about the late response I was out in town) I’m also most likely autistic too, but also undiagnosed because I mask too much My special interest is art history specifically South Asian art! I incorporate it alot into my stories too

Thank you for calling it endearing. I suppose steampunk and 19th century stuff is also one of my interests as well. Without all this research Elsie wouldn’t be the way it is

Also with Harry. I have been told I was annoying several times… it isn’t just this interests but my other ones too.

A “friend” of mine who turned out to be a jerk, I won’t say names for privacy reasons, told me “Your obsession with Houdini is going too far,” and “It could be dangerous.”

And I’m like “How could it be dangerous?”

Anyway… I’m not friends with that person anymore. Not just because of that but also because of their behavior around my other friend irl. It was messy. I don’t want to talk to them ever again. Among many many other things including pushing boundaries way too far which was not okay.

Being on the spectrum is hard. But I’ve always had a hard time with communication and social cues.

Yeah I love turning my interests into story stuff too I think it makes the worlds feel more authentic because we’ve divulged so much of our time into learning about it. So even the fantastical side of your steampunk has a nice feel to it. I think even though I work with fantasy I have a lot of research behind it too so I totally get it.

Also I’m sorry you had that bad experience with that person ): I’m glad you’ve moved on from them because they sound like not a great friend. We need more Houdini Stans on your side lol I might not be as crazy into Houdini but I do like seeing the posts from them actually.

And yeah it is hard being neurodivergent sometimes. I have schizophrenia so I think sometimes that in itself is considered on part of the spectrum too. But I’m also diagnosed adhd too so I guess that gives me the extroversion I have lol. I just wanna talk about the cave paintings in Nepal by monks, I’m sorry, people!!! I also tend to write novel long posts in the forums too but you’ll find your people. Still I’m sorry about the crappy not friend ): sending care
