Let's talk pets!

These ferrets were rescued twice and were never litter trained up until my friend got them so training them is a little difficult, the older one has been pretty good about using it lately but whenever I try to get the female to use it she leaves the box and tries to go near the door then I pick her up and put her in the box and then everything just repeats itself until I've had it and just end up putting her in the cage until she goes. Before I moved in they used to go to the bathroom wherever they wanted and not get in trouble for it but I refuse to live in a house where the animals rule it, plus its just disgusting to let them do that even if you clean it up afterwards. His parents used to spoil them rotten and my friend just gave up on trying to reason with his mother about punishing them but I was able to I love these ferrets but I don't love their poop.

Totally agree, purebreds are riddles with nasty problems! It's simple genetics, spread the genes apart and you get healthier, well anything! Many purebreds, on top of their genetic complications from being inbred, also have nasty teeth. So, top the medical bills off with huge dental bills on top of what was paid to purchase them in the first place. Sheesh.

Lol, birds can be very vocal animals and some breeds can be heard doors down! Cockateils are great! They always seem like really friendly birds, and I've even had one hang out on my head and try to play with my hair. Like I said, I don't know much about birds, and it's nice to know my first impressions have been verified! Maybe I'll do a section on birds after all

You seem to have good luck with breeding fish, even if you aren't trying! I hope they don't multiply too readily!

Do you think Cockatiels would make good first time bird pets?

Glad you liked the thread and commented! I'm glad you were able to help the cat! Poor guy, out door cats can get into all kinds of bad situations.

I hear that, letting bunnies out where there are foxes and cats can get pretty dangerous for them! Even in quiet places many people don't like to have their rabbits out on leashes cause they're afraid a passing dog might get them. My guys used to be indoors only (Since I live in a city) and they destroyed everything. It's cool you have an enclosed outdoor space for your guys!

Cockatiels make great pets! I had females but after seeing a boy, they are more fun because they are out to impress you! X3 But my birds LOVED to be pet. They would bend their heads down to tell me to pet the backs of their necks. One time I looked up at one of them and she did that from across the room. I was like OH KAY! XD I really hope to own one again someday. Maybe one day when we get a house. hehehe

The zombie dreams are different every time. Like usually they are just kind of creepy. Not like scarey, but weird or odd, I don't know what to make of it. There was one time were it was scarey. But other times it was like They were visiting me and I was happy to see them.

Great to know! Maybe I'll do a chapter on birds. Might have to spend some time at my friend's who has birds. I only had scaly and furry pets XD But I'd like for my comic to be comprehensive towards everyone's animal interests. Except I might skip the zombie pets. I hope the dreams continue to get better!

The vet told us he was more or less 2 years old, and yes the vet recommended us to castrate him, I did some research on it and decided that it was the best option, so he is neutered

Oh yeah, I do worry sometimes. Luckily, they don't go very far and are mostly not the type to pick fights with other cats. Before he was neutered, though, Oliver used to get into fights all the time and would come home with some wounds. But after being fixed, he no longer gets in scuffles.

Neutering is a great step in curbing unwanted behaviors in cats. 2 years old means that he's still got tons and tons of energy. Now, putting the energy into a good place is the key! Find a toy he's super into, something interactive is key! even something as simple as a shoe lace may do the trick. the important thing is that it's something your kitty's really into! Try a cat dancer or de bird (Check Amazon)! My cat's love those.

Play with your kitty for about 15-20 minutes or until he's tuckered out. They give your kitty some treats or his usual meal. Wait a bit then repeat the process. Cats have the instinct to play with things to tucker them out and then eat them. This is why it helps to feed cats after a play session. Also clipping his nails is going to help curb the chances of any injuries!

Getting fixed helps a number of behavioral issues. Also cats smell a whole lot better! Recently one of the clients at the vet where I work thought that the smell unnutered cats have was fear. I love the thought that the smell of cats marking their territory is what fear smells like!
