I've always based characters mildly on people I know, not so much on me. That being said, all of my main characters are gay women, and I am a gay woman. However, I've done that more because I want to see more LGBT main characters without it being a main plot point, so that's just how my comics ten…

I think even the most dislikable main character has something to hook you in with, and they can't be so unlikable that you can't relate to them. However, these characters usually become likable by the end of the story. Scott Pilgram grows as a character, which is why in the end you want to root fo…

If you like a little horror in your LGBT comics you can check out my comic Blood and the Art of Baking. It's a strange lesbian romantic tale with vampires and werewolves and goo monsters and a variety of other things. Think Welcome to Nightvale (Podcast) or Camilla (Web Series) (Both excellent LGB…

Blood and the Art of Baking was mainly created because it was the kind of story I wanted to read. A quirky horror story with a diverse cast of characters, as well as an antihero at the center. Same as my other comic Why Me, which does the same thing with fairy tales. Home is a comic to help ed…

Well, I must say it's kinda hard to pick a song that really goes, but I have to say this one seems a good choice... [image] Blood and the Art of Baking

Well, if you want weird how about- 'Death Becomes Her' 'Meet the Feebles' 'Dead Alive' 'Drag Me to Hell' 'Street Trash' 'Demon Night 2'

Here's the most recent page of Blood and the Art of Baking. Sam (the straight haired woman) was arrested and thought no one knew where she was. Turns out she was wrong... [image]

A good sense of humor. Banter and planning are a winning combination!

Great topic! I'd love to see more diverse main characters. I'm going to do a little self promotion by mentioning Blood and the Art of Baking, which has an African American/ Dominican lesbian main character, as well as a pretty diverse cast.

I don't think there's a bad pie variety out there! I'm partial to a good piece of rhubarb pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! However, I'd like to add my favorite throwing pie to the discussion as well. I'd go with banana cream pies since it's one of the more classic throwing pies. Coconut c…

Getting fixed helps a number of behavioral issues. Also cats smell a whole lot better! Recently one of the clients at the vet where I work thought that the smell unnutered cats have was fear. I love the thought that the smell of cats marking their territory is what fear smells like!

Neutering is a great step in curbing unwanted behaviors in cats. 2 years old means that he's still got tons and tons of energy. Now, putting the energy into a good place is the key! Find a toy he's super into, something interactive is key! even something as simple as a shoe lace may do the trick…

I'd love to get any advice on bird care. I haven't done any research!

Great to know! Maybe I'll do a chapter on birds. Might have to spend some time at my friend's who has birds. I only had scaly and furry pets XD But I'd like for my comic to be comprehensive towards everyone's animal interests. Except I might skip the zombie pets. I hope the dreams continue to …

Ha, love adventurous kitties! Do you ever worry about your guys going out doors and getting into scrapes with other animals?

Cool! Sorry it took me a bit to get back. So, let's start with the basics, what's his age and is he neutered?

I hear that, letting bunnies out where there are foxes and cats can get pretty dangerous for them! Even in quiet places many people don't like to have their rabbits out on leashes cause they're afraid a passing dog might get them. My guys used to be indoors only (Since I live in a city) and they d…

Glad you liked the thread and commented! I'm glad you were able to help the cat! Poor guy, out door cats can get into all kinds of bad situations. Do you want some help for his scratching and biting issues?

You seem to have good luck with breeding fish, even if you aren't trying! I hope they don't multiply too readily! Do you think Cockatiels would make good first time bird pets? Also, awesome zombie dream! Are the friendly bird zombies at least?

That's great! Sometimes introductions can be a little rough. Are your guys indoor/outdoor?

Lol, birds can be very vocal animals and some breeds can be heard doors down! Cockateils are great! They always seem like really friendly birds, and I've even had one hang out on my head and try to play with my hair. Like I said, I don't know much about birds, and it's nice to know my first impre…

Totally agree, purebreds are riddles with nasty problems! It's simple genetics, spread the genes apart and you get healthier, well anything! Many purebreds, on top of their genetic complications from being inbred, also have nasty teeth. So, top the medical bills off with huge dental bills on top …

Awesome kitties and great set up! Like Destiny I have one cat who just wants to be left alone, he's an old man and quite set in his way. It's awesome that you take in strays. Do you mind if I ask if they're fixed and if you had a lot of trouble introducing the new guys?

Awesome kitties, and great set up you have for them! Cat trees are perfect for any indoor feline! I know how you feel, and many people decide eventually to adopt for the same reasons. They house just feels to empty without a furry presence! It's a great reason to adopt, and I'm glad you got two…

Oh, I know how stubborn rabbits can be. I had rabbits and they were awesome! One was a sweet lop eared man and I had a little grey dwarf girl. The girl, Elphaba, used to bang on everything with her toys and destroyed all my cables. Pet shop animals usually have some issues. You have very …

That's awesome, they sound like great pets! I have a coworker who loves birds and she has an African grey and a parakeet! I've never had birds so I wasn't going to talk much about them in my comic, but I'd be interested to know what kind of bird you think a first time bird parent should adopt.

Ferrets are crazy and cute little guys! And they're unfortunately not the neatest of pets. I have a part about ferrets coming up in my comic. Did you litter box train these guys or did they come trained?

That's awesome that you and your family takes in large mixed breed dogs! Also, I'm glad even when you were young you never felt your animals had to fit a certain mold. It sounds like you have a great set up for these guys and I'm glad you continue to care for them even when it's hard! Many dogs e…

That's so wonderful! I'm glad your cat is helping your husband while he's not feeling well. Getting a second cat may help Malla's vocalization and may also help you and your husband have the lap cat you want. Do you mind if I ask if Mala is spayed? Fish are a handful! The more I read up on the…

I'm trying to find more information on how people think about pets. I work at a vet and I get a great chunk of information about how people view pets in New York City. However, I want a wider range of opinions from all over! So, tell me why you have pets. Do you find them relaxing? Was your ex…
