Let's write codec calls for our webcomic characters!

So, here's a fun idea I had the other night: What if we wrote codec calls about each other's webcomic characters akin to the ones from Smash Bros with Pit and Snake?

(Here's what I'm talking about.)

Codec Conversations

Except it's with out characters talking about the other characters. Here, let me give an example.

Dragoons (DRGN) vs Yvonne (EGT)

Flare: Well, looks like someone got lost on their way to their school classes...

Fubuki: That's Yvonne Joestar Wiseman. I have no idea why he's here seeing as he doesn't seem to have any fighting skill or special powers whatsoever.

Flare: Then he'll be easy to take, right?

Fubuki: Don't get cocky. If there's one thing he has going for him,, it's his unpredictability.

Flare: Wait, I thought you just said he couldn't fight.

Fubuki: Correct. But he seems to be an expect at coming up with plans on the fly while running for his life.

Zephyr: That, and his book bag seems to always have the right thing for the right moment no matter how impractically big the object is as well.

Flare: Great, he's one of those types of fighters...

Zephyr: Best of luck! And watch out for his puppy!

Flare: WAIT! What about his puppy?

Zephyr: You'll see soon enough...

I hope that makes sense.

This looks fun! Kid Icarus: Uprising is one of my favorite games! I binged it in 3 days!

Cedric Udory

Cedric is a young boy who relies on technology to give him a fighting advantage. He wields a laser sword and wears a coat with a special fiber sleeve that he can use to block attacks. He’s a little ditzy, but for the most part he means business.

Venn

Venn is a living Nero. A Nero is a superpower that can be harvested from the land. His power allows him to become a large beast that can wreck buildings. He’s a pretty depressed dude, having been shunned by society, but he’s loyal and wants the best for others.

Cedric (One Reign Note) VS Venn (No-Man is Human)

Cedric: What’s up with the big guy over here? He doesn’t look...human.

Betcha: That’s because he’s half human, half Nero. In his normal state, he looks like a dweeb in glasses. But once he turns on his power, he becomes a hulking beast.

Cedric: Great...I’m outclassed again...

Betcha: Don’t sell yourself short. Though he’s big, he’s got slow swings. You’re small, and have fast swings. Plus, you can think outside the box!

Kimi: You’re giving him too much credit....

Yeah, I hope it gains traction! Especially if we have other characters doing them on other people's characters. (I had a pretty funny idea involving the Dragoons vs @Chita's Flare.)

[Reign]

Yeah, that’d be cool! Get a little collab goin,!

Most definitely. Hope other people get interested. (Though it might help to have other people show of their characters with a brief description of their personality and abilities for the ease of others.)

The Hyper-Hobo (Alien Fiction) vs 402 (Soulless Saint)

Hyper-Hobo: Whar's my shopping cart? Thar it is!

Shiva: That's no shopping cart. That's your next opponent, 402 the Machine Man. He's a self-aware robot from an Earth I call Breach World (tm). He taught himself the trade of assassination and became the most infamous killer among his kind. By "his kind" I of course mean Texans.

Hyper-Hobo: I can make a blanket out of a newspaper and a hat out of my blanket.

Shiva: You'll need those survival skills here. That awesome sniper rifle he's carrying is a unique relic from the golden age. It uses thirteen technologies to accelerate a single projectile, including gravity folding, electromagnetic coils, chemical propellants, steam pressure -- are you listening?

Hyper-Hobo: I ate thr batteries out of my radio so I could hear the alley cats talkings.

Shiva: Hyper-Hobo, that's a brilliant strategy! Target his batteries and batter them into batter with your bag. After you've torn his soul from his metal mortal coil and obliterated his perfect win record, bring me that gun.

Hyper-Hobo: I lick an alley cat when my tongue gets cold.

Shiva: Our victory is assured! I can feel the destiny from here!

Dragoons (DRGN) Vs Flare (Burning Shadows)

Flare: Wait, do all humans have wings and a tail like that?

Fubuki: That's Flare, the last of the fire dragons from Tyrn.

Flare: No, I'm not! Fire dragons are some of the most common types of dragon back home, remember?

Fubuki: On her world, she's the last of her kind. Anyways, she woke up one day with no memories of who she is or where she came from.

Flare: That sounds really familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it... Anyways, what all can she do?

Selena: Oh, the usual stuff: She is an expert in fire magic, can absorb heat and flames to power herself up, can fly really fast and whip up small wind storms with those wings of hers, and she is very strong and smart for her appearance.

Zephyr: She'll mostly try to play keep away and tease you if you fight her, so basically. You're fighting me all over again, Just a bit less stylish. Also, she's really hot headed and quick to anger, so try to use that to your advantage as well.

Flare: Again, sounds like someone I know, but I just can't remember who...

Bryce: Also, please watch out for her companion, Shade. He is a blue bounty hunter with freezing powers who first met this Flare after being hired by an unknown client to procure her.

Fubuki: Hey, wait a minute...

I hope I did yours justice! (Might do Shade later as well.)

Don't be afraid to do codecs based off of other people's characters as well if you want to! Can't wait to see what you all do!

Summary

Flare: Wait, is that a dragon?

Shade: I thought they all died.

Khaus: Fools, that is not a dragon, and you should know it by now...

Flare: Wait! He looks kinda human, maybe he's like me!

Khaus: Believe me, he is not. He is Flare, a–

Flare: You see? We even have the same name!

Khaus: Little flame, he is not. That Flare is a dragoon from Anthicon, the proud paladin wielder of the Red Armor and has domain over fire.

Flare: Now the fire powers! Can't you see it?!

Shade: No.

Flare: But...

Shade: Just no.

Flare: Fiiiiine.

Khaus: * cough * Continuing on, you might have to be cautious around him since he has a spiritual entity by his side, the mighty dragon Bahamut. Furthermore, he's an expert swordman and has many gadgets by his side, including a shifting sword.

Flare: Well, that surely reminds me of someone else instead.

Shade: Why are you looking at me?

Yvonne (EGT) vs Rip (Dragon Sparking)

Yvonne: Oh my gosh, is that a fuzzy dinosaur in a hoodie and sweats?

Sparky: Didn't know the Science Museum's fossil revival project was that far along, mon....

Sheldon: Apparently, his name is Rip. He's a Martial Ranger from the planet Vagary. Everyone on his planet has a special ability called a "Spark."

Sparky: Spark, mon?

Sheldon: No, not that type of Spark. His is called 'Dragon Spark.' It allows him to increase his strength and power greatly at the cost of losing control of his emotions and ricking entering a fit of blind rage.

Yvonne: Rip, Norse Mythology, Dragon Spark, rage, that haircut. Sure this guys doesn't frontline a heavy metal band in his spare time? I mean, Dragon Spark is a great name for an 80's throwback rock band.

Sheldon: His Spark also allows him to copy the abilities of other dragons he comes in contact with.

Ao Kuang: Did someone say dragons?

Sheldon: Don't get distracted, he's a trained warrior who is okay with using whatever strategy he can to win and he's totally not a afraid to go in for the kill. He's both strong and fast, so stay on your toes and just keep doing whatever you do best, Yvonne!

Yvonne: Still doesn't explain why he's so fuzzy, though...

Sparky: Maybe it wasn't a good idea to submit my genes to fill in the missing DNA for the revival project, mon....
