Hello everyone, this is my first time writing a light novel. I was hoping to get some honest feedback. For now this project is just for fun and nothing too serious, but I still wanna improve. Sorry there's no artwork attached yet, hopefully I'll post some soon. Below is some general information on the series and attached is the prologue. Sorry if I don't respond asap to your feedback.
This series is 16+
Plot: What if the miracle of becoming a magical girl was more of a curse then a blessing?
Prologue(The Origin of Flow)-
Warning: Magical Girl Shift is made for a 16+ audience. There’s talk of violence and death. Viewer discretion is advised.
“Get out of the way!!” Sonia screeched.
At first it appeared to be any other normal day for Sonia. Walking to school like any other 15yr old girl would do. As she was about to turn a corner she noticed a little boy in the street. The boy couldn't have been no more than three and was all alone. The boy didn’t seem to have a care in the world, not knowing the danger he was in. As Sonia started to think of what to do she noticed a speeding car in the distance, coming towards the boy. Without any hesitation she ran towards the boy and shoved him out the way. But Sonia herself wasn’t fast enough and got hit by the car.
On the ground Sonia's body was mageld, she looked like a ragdoll flung by a child. Her vision started to fade to black. A tear left her face as she took her last breath, she was sure this was the end. At least she thought it was. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in a beautiful Meadow. The sky was bright blue and not a single cloud was in it. The Meadow was covered in flowers with a variety of pink shades. As she looked around she noticed a sheep-like creature floating in front of her.
“Hello there Ms. Ward.”
“Who are you and where am I?” Sonia asked.
“ Sonia Ward, I am Sibe. You are currently in between life and death itself.”
“Life and death!? Is the little boy okay?”
“Yes Ms. Ward, you saved his life.”
“Well at least I can die knowing that I did something useful for once. But I’m going to miss my friends a lot.” Sonia began to cry a bit. The thought of being dead wasn’t scary, it was the thought of leaving the people she cared most about behind.
“Ms. Ward, your life doesn't have to end here.”
“It doesn't?”
“Yes. Ms. Ward you can continue onto the afterlife or I can transform you into a magical girl, giving you a second chance at life.”
“So is this how the other magical girls are made?”
“Yes.”
“But why are you choosing me? There are plenty of other girls that are much stronger than me.”
“Well Ms. Ward, I choose girls that need a second chance at life. I also choose girls that display Magical Girl merits. There are many of them, but two of them are sacrifice and bravery. You showed both when you saved that boy's life. You gave up your own life, for someone else you barely knew. You’re a very good contender to become a magical girl.”
“What’s the catch?”
“No catches at all, I simply want to give back to those that have given so much to society. What you do with your powers is up to your jurisdiction.”
Sonia thought for what felt like hours, she came to the conclusion to become a magical girl. There was no other choice, It was either that or death. As she opened her eyes again she was in a hospital room. Her friends, Cecelia and Rene, beside her bed. When she woke up that day, she had great powers and now a great responsibility. To protect those in Lumenite City.
