My comic Socializing101 is in that format, I was very new to it when I started working on my comic, I was more familiar with manga than webtoons and I also had old comics in a manga format but I found myself enjoying this format better, the main difference is paneling. Anyway here are some tips,
Read some webtoons! even if it's a story you might not like, read it to study how they make the story flow, the paneling, speechbubbles, etc take screenshots for references and familiarize yourself with it as much as you can.
I highly recommend reading "Winter Woods" and "Nineteen, Twenty-one"
I'm not sure how you chose to script your comic but I highly recommend storyboarding, especially since you're new to the webtoon format, it'll help you with your panel and speechbubble placements and it'll be your guide as you're working on the webtoon. (let me know if you'd like to see examples of this)
Webtoons are also about using the white space too, unlike regular manga-style comics you don't have to fill up every inch with panels. In webtoons you have to leave some spaces and that helps you control the pace of the comic. Also use a variety of panel shapes and sizes, webtoons allows for more freedom with this than the standard comic does. I think Tapastic has a good tutorials on that here.
Read through your work several times throughout your comic making process. I tend to read through my finished pages several times befor publishing it, to see the flow of the comic from the readers perspective. I tend to squeez panels together while working on my comic so as I read through it again I notice and space out the panels abit more if needed.
I hope that helps!
