I've been mulling the question of promotion in the back of my mind a bit, and I think as we have this looseknit group with several different styles represented, it might be advantageous to create a promotional comic in a round robin format.
Bear with me here. I was reading this thread, and I started wondering what it might be like to organize a sort of gag-a-week strip to promote adult-themed comics on Tap. Kind of like the bar on Tatooine, or the restaurant at the end of the universe, though the latter might be more suited as it would have a multiverse possibility. We could possibly call it Schrödinger's Pub. All your characters are there, but not there. Although they're there. No, not really there at all.
The jokes could just be random grousing about what's happening to that character in your plot, but complaining to characters from other series, though there would have to be some ground rules, and a code of ethics regarding the use of a creator's works, to protect the dignity and continuity of characters from other creators. While I think this facet may be a risk, I also think it would be interesting to see what's made of the opportunity.
Verifiably random order of progression would be necessary so that no single creator or group could dominate the strip. A volunteer only organizational team would need to be formed of reliable persons to ensure stability of updates and communication of expectations, guidelines, editorial oversight, and posting responsibility.
I think this idea, done well, could offer the breadth of comics and creators an equal opportunity to showcase their work that would add an avenue of exposure that might otherwise be closed off. Some things you just can't do in some genres, whereas a gag strip set in a bar is like an invitation to Vegas. Better yet, a casino may be even better than a bar. Schrödinger's Jackpot, where you win, you lose, you get plastered, and you forget you were ever there. The perfect destination. What happens at Schrödinger's, stays at Schrödinger's.
I'd like to hear what other's think about this concept.
