(For a less wordy description of what I'm looking for, please scroll down)
Hello. I've had an account for a little while, but don't recall posting on any of the forums before, so forgive me if I make a mistake somewhere! Feel free to correct me if I say or post the wrong information. I'm also a litte nervous, so please be patient with me.
My name is Jordan. I am 25 years old and I have had many story ideas, but only two that are worth pursuing. Maybe, haha. But mostly, I have this one idea that I'm trying to make as original or good-sounding as possible.
It is a magical girl series (mostly girls, there is one boy) with a group of them representing each of the Western zodiac signs, such as Gemini, Capricorn, etc. So, there's 12 of them in total and it seems like a lot to work with, but I do want to make it into a great manga series. It probably won't be as popular as Sailor Moon, but what series is, you know?
I am a writer and I've wrote all sorts of stories over the years, although my main flaw is my lack of finishing stories. I do have an ending in mind, but if you can draw AND write so that it will be better than I could ever imagine, that'd be great! If you can only do art, that's great too!
I will write a short snippet of my writing here, so I'm sorry if it's too short and it's not related to the story I have in mind whatsoever:
"The night was dark and cold. Inside the house, the young woman laid in bed reading one of her magazines. The lamp was the only light source in the room, shining as much as it could.
Without zero warning, the light went out.
“Ah, jeez! Did the rest of the lights go out too,” she asked.
The woman got up from bed, setting the magazine down, and walked over to the light switch, flipping it to see if it would turn on. When it didn’t, she growled in frustration, cranky from her long day at work. Mumbling, she opened the door and walked out, seeing that there was darkness in the hallway. She walked back into the room, grabbed her cell phone, and turned on the flashlight mode. The moment she came back out, she heard a noise and shined the light down the hallway.
But there was nothing there. “
I hope that was a good example. I tend to be a bit wordy with my stories and details, so anyone that could help me with important details is a great bonus.
I'm sorry I don't have any published stories online, they weren't up to my satisfaction, so I deleted them. But, I can try to come up with better short story examples, if you so wish. Plus, the reason why this position is unpaid is because I am having money troubles and cannot afford to pay anyone to help.
THE SHORT VERSION
*Project: It will be a manga series
*Length of Work: Currently unknown, but definitely not a one-shot or short series limited to a few chapters.
*Expected Update Days/Frequency: Possibly once or twice a week.
*Comic Style: Black and White, maybe including a couple colored pages once in a while.
*Preferred Contact: Email
*Paid or Unpaid: Unpaid
*General Idea: 11 girls (and 1 boy) are picked by Gods to become guardians, also called "Witches". Parts of their personalities are based off of their zodiac signs, which become their symbols.
*Main Genre: Magical Girl
*Type of Style: In the middle? Like not realistic, but not too cartoony.
Important Things to Mention That May Need Adjustments, Story or Character-wise
(These CAN be changed or adjusted depending on what you or I think is best and may not appear in the final version of the story)
*Each girl has a religion, including one who is a Muslim. The boy is an Atheist.
*While this is not a romantic story per se, the boy does have a love interest and it's none of his teammates.
*The Gods are the four main Gods of Heaven, a family that consists of a father, mother, and opposite-gendered twins.
*The main goal is to protect all who live in Heaven because someone has the Heart, which fuels all of the magic in the whole universe. If stolen by those in Hell, chaos will reign forever.
*I MAY have made them too different and need help finding common ground for the teammates to agree on.
I hope this is detailed enough for you! I'm hoping to make this a popular-enough series that people will enjoy it. Feel free to contact me and share your ideas/suggestions, whether you're working with me or not. I hope you all have a nice day!
