LONG (and a tad dramatic) POST AHEAD
Reading more on the topic, I realize it is unfair to be asking artists to work without pay. Hopefully I will be able to solve the situation and pay my artist instead, but I thought I might as well try.
Good day (or as we say it in our tribe, Madayaw na adlaw!). I am an aspiring writer from the Philippines, native to one of the tribes of Mindanao. I finished a few stories and am here in the hopes of venturing into new horizons. This post might sound too demanding, but please know that I am writing this with good intentions. I am looking for an artist to collaborate with on a story that revolves around Philippine mythology. I am a firm believer of exposing the beauty of the country, and intend to use my skill (albeit lacking) in doing so. I feel that the story would be best delivered in a comic or webtoon format. Essentially, the story will aim to delve into the intricacies of mythology and culture, not only of the Philippines but that of the world. The story revolves around three friends, a Korean, A Filipino, and a Bhutanese, all studying to become supernatural soldiers.
Preferably, I would love to collaborate with someone who shares the same passion. Unfortunately, I will be unable to pay for the collaboration, so instead I offer a percentage of whatever the story earns. Should you wish to form a partnership, I am happy to share intellectual rights with you, to be submitted to the copyright authorities of the Philippines and the country of your choosing. We can discuss the fine details. I know I'm getting ahead of myself as it remains to be seen whether the story takes off, but I take intellectual rights seriously, as any form of art takes effort, and I want to give credit where it is due. I have no intention of rushing the work, so if you want to post once month, or once every two months, I am happy to comply. You can use any software you are comfortable with, I will adjust accordingly. Before I forget, I am happy to edit my story to cater to the ideas of the artist, and I am willing to learn how to help make the process easier, be it coloring panels, adding background, and planning panels. If there is any way I can make the task easier, I'll do it. You may reach me through email: avatherottenavocado@gmail.com. If you want, you may read my other works which I will post here on Tapas tomorrow. I look forward to any response to this long shot of a post. Sorry for the long post. Have a good day and may the muses look kindly upon you.
