:sparkles:Hello everyone!:sparkles:

So I am a writer who wants to collaborate with an artist on making a manga or webcomic from a novel I have. First, for any revenue that is earned, we can definitely split 50/50.

I post chapters on Amazon because they have a more steady version of payment instead of waiting so I am more biased  but I do know that it is not something many people may not be comfortable with and I completely understand. If the artist feels more comfortable with Tapas or Webtoon I am 100% with them.

Plan: If we go through Amazon, we could do it chapter by chapter instead of posting the complete manga/webcomic at once. This gives both the artist and me a break. As well as gives a better form of steady payment. The same with Tapas or Webtoons though (honestly don't have experience with them besides the one preview I shared of a manga I published on Amazon years ago, It's called The Mystery of Tokyo Bay on Tapas).

This would be my first webcomic (or manga) alone so it is like opening a new book without reading any reviews but going off of the plot and information I studied from some of my college classes and past experiences under a publisher.

Update: 04/ 12/2023

Okay, so I am changing this around because I have three other works in progress that I feel are closer to people’s interests. I kinda had some of these in the drafts for a while (some even years) and thought “Well maybe I should try these out instead”

The genres are all romance but each subgenre may differ.

:cherry_blossom: Plot 1- (My First Completed Story)

Wallflower Blooming:

Genres: Romance, Drama, and a Bit of Mystery

Blurb: Wallflower Blooming revolves around two people, Niko Kumai and Shunpei Matsumura. Niko's husband disappears, and shortly after she is suspected of being the cause. Before she is convicted, she goes on the run to find evidence to clear her name. Shunpei is being accused of bank fraud but has no idea how. Knowing what they may have left behind and the possibility of returning back they question if they want to go down the path of new love or return to the road they always knew.

Note: The story takes place in 2004 and also has themes of LGBTQ. The female lead is Bi (wanted a reflection of myself :hugging:) and the male lead is asexual and I thought it would be amazing to include at a time when it was not talked about a lot. Perhaps some things can teach people.

Length: The completed novel is 37 chapters, but there are a lot of chapters where I made 600 words with hooks for :sparkles:effect :sparkles:. Definitely 30 chapters or less

:eight_spoked_asterisk:Plot 2- (My Second Completed Story)

The Light Of Night Book One:

Genres: Romance and Fantasy

Blurb: The world of royalty is soon introduced to Ireia Foxe after she takes a job working under the king. She makes her own family and lives a peaceful life until destruction is brought to her. She builds herself back up but over time gains a new vengeance. She becomes a monarch everyone can aspire to look up to but with the risk of a curse and the unknown truth to many questions she has, how will she manage?

Notes: Book one is a little light and focuses on more of the events that made her want revenge. Book two becomes darker in a sense. Actually not just book two, as the series goes on it becomes darker and makes you question each previous book in the series.

Length: The novel version I wrote has about 21 chapters (though the link has 43 book one stops at episode 26, chapter 25. After that, it is the second book.

Oh! I do have designs of the characters as well (I made them with sims , I know wild right?). I do have a history with scriptwriting as well. Honestly, its something I love to do when helping the artist.

Last but not least, my author page and socials:

Feel free to ask questions :star:

(I swear I need to stop adding and deleting plots but these two are completed so I think they are the best to go with )

Well.

This is probably the first post I've seen in these forums that has genuinely piqued my interest for one of these things. I have no idea what sort of style you're looking for, but I checked out that Wallflower synopsis and it's pretty awesome. A List For Tomorrow also seems really great. Good writing, too, and it's nice to see an actual finished product being brought up.

Hrm.

I've worked with writers before, but it's been a while since I did anything serious, and I don't have a proper resume, lol. But I have a fairly successful BL webcomic already and I'm often looking for something else to do when I'm not working on that.

I mean, I'd be down to give it a shot, maybe start by putting together a few pages or what have you.

I'd like to hear what your expectations are for storyboarding panels, if you want to go the old school comic page layout vs vertical scroll, and how open you are toward artistic freedom. The only issues I usually have with writers are butting heads over certain artistic elements (like a guy wanting me to draw the shoe laces on NPC 30 in a big city, or not understanding why a certain perspective needs to work a certain way, etc.)
Oh, what sort of rating are you looking at? I don't generally care but it'd be good to know.

Anyway. Here's my instagram.

Doesn't have any women on it so I'll give you an example I made for a commission:

Regardless, seems like some really good stuff you have there. I'm digging the plot idea for the list, that looks fun. Would like to hear more about it.

Thank you! Your artwork is amazing! To be honest I think verticle scroll could be cool. I promise things like shoe laces and things are not a big deal for me :joy:. I was focused on more of like a 16+ rating due to some of the subjects mentioned in the novel. Actually, most of my stories are kind of that rating  either way I am super excited

I prefer vertical scroll, too. It's just more modern and gets more viewers, since it's easier to read on your phone.

Which story are you most interested in? I admit I'm totally leaning on the list one, but I also love a good mystery/romance. Unique romances in general are really fun.

But yeah, feel free to hit me up, I'm really intrigued.

A List for Tomorrow! :sparkles: I got some chapters for that one done in my files somewhere but I am excited! Most definitely unique romances are fun. They almost have a way to draw in a reader too

Oh! I did mean to say that in my opinion releasing on Amazon is a more trusty and faster way to gain profit than other sited though  I should have said that a long time ago.

Updated! I took out the other two ideas since they are not complete and explained more about the novel :star2:

Boosting after update 04/12/2023.

I want to give other options for possible story plots :sparkles:

Hi. So I want to wish you luck. However, most artists don't want to devote a lot of time and effort to possible story plots. They prefer something finished and past the idea stage.

Most definitely! I should add back the one that is finished as well. It was once here but I didn't think people were interested.

Hi! Important note, serious inquaries only. I don't want anyone to feel forced to work with me but if we start working together and suddenly you do not want to work with me please tell me. I hate denying others for another person just to end up not working with the person I agreed to work with.

Updated to only complete story plots! Felt like having only completed stories was better

Added the link for the ebook for The Light Of Night Book One. Also, I spoke to someone recently and think there is a misunderstanding  I am currently not working with anyone on the plots. I should have explained that earlier with the serious inquiries only reply.
