Hello! I’m a writer looking to sharpen his skills and create a project I call ‘Reasons to Live’.
In a sentence, it’s the polar opposite of Thirteen Reasons Why. More specifically, it draws on stories like Dear Evan Hansen, Heathers, and others.
The genera is realistic fiction, set in a high school. The story’s fairly dark in places, and deals with tough topics like suicide, but I intend to have an optimistic tone and theme. The story’s SFW, aside from the previously mentioned topics. There’ll likely be some moderately frightening imagery, but not excessively graphic or gruesome.
The plot:
After an unpopular and disliked student committed suicide, a number of students came forward to offer condolences and stated that they were friends of his. A few months afterwards, at the beginning of the spring quarter, a mysterious email goes out to all students and faculty saying that the only reason so many people cared was because the student had died. So, this mysterious message says that the school as a whole needs to prove that they truly do care about the losers, freaks and oddballs before the summer break begins. Otherwise, this person will commit suicide as well.
The style I want is fairly stylized, something along these lines:

This is not paid, but I’m looking for a partnership to make this story. I already have the overarching plot created, and I imagine this won’t be too long of a story. I’m not sure what sort of schedule to have, that’s something to discuss.
The scale of the work is fairly long, but an endpoint is definitely in my head. It’ll only be a single ’season’, so to speak.
