Looking for artist(s) to adapt my novel into a comic (unpaid, unless the story takes off and we become paid authors)

Hello! I'm Crow, an aspiring author/writer! I'm looking for an artist who wants to make an isekai fantasy comic with touches of romance added in. Here are some of my past works (all of them are fanfiction lol) and here's my first original (the work that would be adapted.) Additional Info: Once the story gains some traction and if it becomes a paid story, I'm more than happy to do a 5050 or even a 40/60 split (negotiable) As for what types of artists I'm looking for, I really want to put an emphasis on backgrounds/setting and character design! To be honest, I can't draw at all, so I'm not very picky...

Hey! Not to be a bringer of disappointment, but from experience I can tell you that this arrangement rarely works. Most if not all artists want to tell their own stories so unless you've got something amazing to offer -like a decent pay- I don't think many will reply.
If your project is still in the beginning stages, I advise you to simply keep going until it's finished or learn to draw yourself while you write your story. Maybe you'll find someone who loves your story through your viewership who would love to help you out, but that's unlikely if they have no idea yet how the story is going to go!

MeLovesTacos (great user name) is right but here is something you can do step by step to
work on your project and which will make the future work with potential artists easier:
-take the first script from the early phase to the next phase
-transform it into comic script form
-collect reference material
-make character profiles
-thumbnail the comic with simple sketches. stick figures + dialogue
+ what kind of shot you want for the panel

Imagine having this and presenting it to a possible collab partner?
Way more convincing right?

Definitely helps if you draw some scenes as well, I do that for my collab partner and they're ecstatic to work with it. (it doesn't need to be good, just give enough for the artist to get the general idea. )

And it helps with the quality of the art as well, so I would definitely take the time and learn. I agree whole heartedly.

Agree with everyone except for one thing; I personally, as an artist, prefer to do my own thumbnails and have heavy input on storyboarding. Mostly because things like dynamic scenes, interesting perspective shots and so forth are stuff you learn over time in the process of becoming an artist and not something people just generally have a feel for, even if you're a good writer.

IMO, offer ideas but leave that stuff to the artist to come up with.

That stuff aside, have a script.

I would personally not even bother considering working with someone if they don't at least have a number of episodes already written for a comic script. Translating a novel to a comic is not an easy task and a lot of things often need to be changed.
