Looking for BL writer (unpaid)

Hey guys.
I have some free time on my hands and I want to try something out.
I used to be kind of into BL when I was younger & I feel like I had a bit of a falling out with the genre.
I want to revisit it.
I’m looking to make a project that’s about 20-30 pages long.

High concept stories interest me best lately, but generally anything that’s not fantasy would be good.
I would like the story to focus on personal growth and finding your place in a healthy relationship.

I very much want to avoid:
- MCs being minors
- large age differences (go by the highschool rule: 3 years difference up or down)
- any authority relations (teacher/student, boss/worker, etc)
- physical or mental abuse
- mental illness (just because i don’t feel the page count limit can do that justice)
- extremely dark/cliche backstories

edit: in terms of concept and story we can come up with it together or you can take more of an active role if you prefer, it’s really up to the writer how much they wanna take part and i’ll match myself

I would definitely be interested in that kind of a project! I've been wanting to branch out to different genres and I think it would be a fun challenge to write a BL short story. I've included an example of my writing below in case you're interested!

I read the first couple of updates of your story and ill admit i’m not sure it’s a great example (set in the past, full-fantasy, only a handful of dialogue lines overall) i was wondering if you had any other examples maybe more dialogue focused since that’s what comics lean towards?

it’s short for “Boy’s Love”, aka m/m gay fiction
it was originally a spinoff term of ‘yaoi’ connected to the otaku/weaboo/anime-manga-doujinshi community mainly populated by teenage girls, which is where it got a bit of a bad name.
(*sidenote this doesn’t apply to ‘bara’, which silver mentioned briefly, which is a community that originated from a completely different space with it’s own history, community, and tropes)
As time went on, however, more and more people identifying within the LGBT+, including gay men, also started using the term and creating content under it, especially in prominently-western spaces. (like tapas)
It’s got a lot of history important to understanding the genre, tropes and community but that’s whatnot I got in a nutshell!

Hi Kip, If you haven't already partnered up with another community member I have an idea for a short story, if you're interested.

Though, it's a more high concept, action and sci-fi focused story then really a romantic one. Though it has space for romance in it.

Synopsis: An Isekai about a guy trapped in an a mysterious empty metropolis, his main companion throughout and potential love interest would be a guy trapped as a reflection.

Most of the conflict would stem from the MC surviving and exploring the mysterious setting, as well as escaping some form of local denizens be they other reflections, survivors or something more fantastical etc.

Naturally I'd work with you and create a script to better match your preferences and abilities.

Well, it's not a comic, but I wrote a fairly dialogue driven short film. I totally understand if this doesnt put any worries to rest, it's still not exactly the genre you're looking for.
