There's different types of editor. So there's developmental edits (which are the most expensive) that really get into the nitty gritty details of plot, craft, character etc. Then there's line editing - looking at sentence flow, then there's proof or copy editing - looking for spelling grammar. Each of these are different skill sets. Most editors do all of these things, but charge different rates for different types of edits.

But wouldn't you want to prioritize, the first few chapters instead?
That's what I would have done, for the simple reason that if I was writing a novel, I would want my readers to start from page 1.Since I have a comic consisting of many stories, it really doesn't matter to me, since my readers can start from anywhere but with a novel it, the same thing wont apply, unless it's a bunch of one shots?

That was the original title of the thread. and not even a proof reader they don't have to tell em what doesn't make sense or a anything, just to right click on the red writing and chose the correct word based on the sentence

I agree, the editor is very recent, right now most of my readers are on the latest cahpters not first, so getting him to focus on that. If possible i will need ot hire an ACTUAL editor for the first few chapters

Thats litreally what i am paying peole 1 doller to do and then 50 extra at the end of the month. it just saves me time and i can work on the enxt chapter right away so if you did that for all the chapters it would be around $200

Don't forget to pay for their grammarly subscription too! Oh and remember that you're expecting them to be around CONSTANTLY during your timezone's active hours for your whims so that's extra too.

Again you misread my post which you keep doing, I said i don't expect them to do this unless I was paying them full price. And i do pay for a Grammarly subscription for all my editors. i have a business account that they all share.

That's what every single other professional writer does before they even dare put it to an editor. It's common courtesy to spell check your work minimum.

im not looking for an editor, who changed the name of this post i never siad i was lookign for an editor

I'm also wondering about chapter costs. I noticed that My Vampire System costs 8 coins per chapter to unlock and on Tapas the lowest I've seen was around 40 ink for a very short chapter while many are 100+ per chapter. Not sure how they translate into real money. How are the costs decided?

Can't say as I don't know the coin conversion. I believe 1350 ink is about $1 on Tapas though give or take, which then is divided 50-50 if it's through desktop, or if it's through the app then the app store takes it's cut and the rest is divided 50-50. Novels here are really cheap actually, but it's the sheer numbers that rack up the dough.
