(What I mean as historical romance is historical setting from the real world, not fantasy in some alternative world).

Hi! I'm new to the forum and just found this post. Maybe my novel qualifies:

My "Lucky Wolf" a historical novel set in the Viking Age! It's an adventure tale with some dark themes and (gay) romance, showing the relationship between Eyolf (a poor orphan who becomes a thief, a prostitute, and eventually a wealthy and famous mystic) and Yngvar (a warrior nobleman). It's fully realistic (no fantasy, just well-researched historical fiction), but I hope the mature themes (violence and sex) aren't a problem.
