Looking for Screentoners/greyscale colorists [PAID/SKILL TRADE]

I'm comin back after a long period of non-productivity and am looking for people to bring onboard with me. Note, I'm unemployed and cant pay much, but I recently got a sponsor in Patreon and I'm def gonna throw in some of that money in there.

Lemme know if this sounds unreasonable, aite? This is my first time tryina do this but here's the terms I'm thinking:

TONING ONLY (art and speech done by me)

1.) Per page payment/OR trade.
Budget: 2-10$/page
Skills for trade: anatomy sketching/panelling**
((Sorry lineart no can do, it takes me more time to line than to tone, and the point of this is so I can save on time))

2.) One time payment, no royalties, but def credit, I'm not scammin.

3.) To undergo one unpaid test, where you tone a blank page.

4.) Will get Photoshop brushes and screentone patterns for free as resources AFTER passing test.**
**except in kurohi, I will give a downloaded halftone filter that I use.

5.) Tones due 10 days after payment/trade agreement, to be requested by paypal invoice.

EDIT: **AGAIN I'M NOT SURE WHAT RATE TO GIVE and I am not exactly well paid rn so I'm just feelin around. **
Pls comment if u have a better idea of the floor or ceiling rate given both my circumstances and quality! Thank you!

I-idk is that terrible? i've been doing this on my own this whole time and makin 0 cash okay and I dont take very long to do the coloring for shieldheart.;;

Like an hour, two hours TOPS.

What's a good price I've never done a paid collab, I've only been on the giving end and for free. I've never been paid either!;;

Maybe just tell 'em the average rates instead of having a knee-jerk reaction?? They said it's their first time asking for help, plus they're unemployed and can't pay much.. they even asked to let 'em know if it's unreasonable. Your comment isn't adding much to help them out

A lot of people try to scam artists to do work for free, I'm sorry if I upset you!
No one ever hires me, so I can relate to that feeling.

The one decent guy who hired me hired me for low since it was an indie band project, and I had to quit for personal reasons;; so... 0 experience pts.

Hmm, then if money is a tight issue, might I suggest a skills trade?

If someone is helping you with your project, what can you help bring to their project -- something like that. Of course, this might also affect how much work both of you take on.

Sometimes, people agree to do the same number of pages in the trade, and that works out fine! But this is all negoitated between the two.

If you can't offer a reasonable sum as of now, maybe this is another option you can take? Both parties would still be getting something out of the exchange, and it's another chance to improve your skills

I feel like you're not really trying to scam, but offering $2 for what you say could be 2 hours of work really isn't going to cut it for most people.

You should know yourself what kind of skills and effort it takes to do screen tones, and you'd probably acknowledge it as a specialized skill since you're having a test for it done, so naturally people would want to be compensated well for specialized skills. You might get away with paying around min wage to a new artist looking for experience (so maybe $7.25/hr), but otherwise you may as well look for volunteers lol.

I think it might be a bit early for you to look for paid workers since you yourself aren't employed, and you currently only have one patron (which seems a lot less stable that someone that's got an established patreon with a pretty consistent income over time). But yeah, I like @Jenny-Toons's trade idea.

Toning or shading often goes for $10 to $50, depending.

Now it's clear you can't afford it, and it's really respectful of you to try to still get people something that's worth their time. Like Jenny suggested, giving a trade of skills would be more beneficial for both of you and an artist in this case.

It's clear you have a good concept of anatomy, which a lot of people struggle with (including myself, but sorry I'm a terrible toner XD), but maybe see if you can get a deal with someone to redline their sketches in return for getting pages toned?

I agree with the idea of some sort of skill trade but maybe even just adding a summary/blurb of the story might help? Your art is lovely, that along with an intriguing story/premise might be enough to get someone to help you out.

I've never really considered a skills trade, but sure, I'll edit my header to say that instead! I'll just mention something more vague abt the cash too since ye I dont have much money lol.

I never really considered making sketches as a trade but that seems very doable for me! (tho lineart is much more tedious work I dont think I can do that as a trade, and I'll mention that, too!)

Okay, so 7$ and hr and 10-50$ per page in toning, alright, thanks for the help!
Now that you mention it I'm also pretty bad with the sense of dollar pay since I'm not American lol (third world represent, hollah)
