Mature Content Limitations

Hello! I'm IzeB, creator of Youniverse: Gaia.

I'm not here to promote the series but I would like to ask, how much is too much for illustrating violence?

I've been reading the guidelines so that I won't commit something against the rules but there are still parts of it that I don't quite understand clearly.

In my story, there is a part that will portray intense violence, like literally. I want to know from other creators if what are the things that isn't acceptable.

I don't want to share what are these mature graphics that I am referring but I think it's safe to say; Human torture and intense punishment.

I hope someone can help me.

The thing is. Violence (due to the american bias) is given alot more leeway than anything else on Tapas. Webtoons of course is more restrictive, but still most violant acts tend to get ignored. You will always be on the site with violence's. However to be displayed on the app (where most readers are) there's a bit of difference.. I think.

Some I have seen just mark the chapters mature and that's the only thing they do. Others apply a mosaic to the organs of the piece. I post a few examples of violant bloody comics still on the site that have high sub counts and you can determine for yourself what is the limit.

While filming the movie JAWS in the 1970s, Steven Spielberg did not have the technology to make his mechanical shark seem realistic. In much of the movie you do not see the shark, you only see people's terrified reactions, and it made for a MUCH scarier movie because audience's imagination did all the heavy lifting.

Just a thought.

I kinda get what you're trying to say. Your idea is interesting and I will try to apply it. Making the audience imagine the rest is a brilliant and a wonderful idea!!!

Jaws is more of a thriller than horror. You can't make a good slasher only relying on the reactions of the cast. Different stories call for different methods

I think if you have disclaimers on every chapter like what I'm doing, that should be helpful. My story "Lyza's Sandstorm" has gory deaths and strong profanity because it fits the type of story.

Having disclaimers ESEPCIALLY in this climate can get you through it. If this was like 80's, 90's or even early to mid 2000's, I wouldn't even bother.
