Mirror sites, how where and what

I'm only 9 away from 50 subs on Los Esmeraldas . I'm super happy about it. BUT that's not the point of this post. the point is Mirror sites. what exactly are those just another place you post your comic? if its like tumblr, how do you get seen just put the right hashtags? I sort of gave up on deviantart. I only post small previews there with a link to tap because well they last on the front page for about a whole 10 seconds anyway.

I use this site, webtoon, and medibang as my mirror sites right now. Webtoon and tapastic have been going pretty well for me so far, medibang is still a new site with some cool features, so I'm gonna stick around for a while to see how it grows. I don't upload on DA or tumblr since I just feel like it's hard to get an audience for a comic on there.

Yup, a "mirror site" is just a phrase to describe any other site you post your comic on. For me, I have a personal website, so I use Tapastic as a mirror site that is another option for people to follow my comic!

Full disclosure: I like tumblr and I like the engagement I get there! But in my opinion you are very unlikely to get noticed for your comic alone on tumblr. You will get noticed for other stuff you post there, which is why on tumblr it's really helpful to join in some kind of community -- participating in fandom is the most common, but other interests work too.
It's not like "POST POPULAR FANART AND THEN PEOPLE WILL SEE YOUR COOL PIC OF UNDYNE AND LOOK AT YOUR COMIC" because I've only had that happen, like, twice -- it's more like, if you post art / your interests on tumblr, people will want to follow you because you seem interesting, and they can discover your other work that way.
So for tumblr, unless your comic has subject matter that gets you some good hashtags, it's more like, being noticed as a creator, and to do that on tumblr it helps to have more interests than just your comic!

I post on my main site, here on Tapastic, and then I have an backup mirror on Tumblr. I also post pages early on Patreon, but it's not meant as a primary reading platform.

I prioritize my main site and Tapastic - and use those to point people towards my Patreon as well - because a.) having my own site is nice, as I'm in full control of its look and content, and b.) the Tapastic community is great. The tumblr is only there in case the other two decide to have hiccups.

If you want to use Tumblr, I recommend using relevant/popular hashtags, and to prioritize them properly - only the first five hashtags get indexed globally, so put the most important ones first.

But yeah, I don't really get a lot of attention on my dedicated comic tumblr - but I use my main art tumblr to point people to my website with teaser images every time I post a new page, and that seems to work alright!

thanks dude ! I don't use tumblr aside from posting commissions...and they are mostly form a fandom full of people totally not interested in the kind of story it is lol. i wasn't sure if there was something i was missing haha.

I use tapastic as a mirror site. My main site for my comic is on smackjeeves. Their ability to customize pages is really splendid and I love the platform. ( http://goblinsofrazard.smackjeeves.com ) However, I mirror at tapastic ( http://tapastic.com/series/Goblins-of-Razard ) because it is MUCH easier to comment on pages here, even if you don't have a tapastic account. So there is that. Also, tapastic is way behind in terms of updates. I only recently put up my comic here, it updates every tues/thurs but smackjeeves has the full comic already posted.

Most people have mirror sites to keep generating traffic from different audiences and build relationships with people and creators from all over the internet. Choosing to mirror at tapastic has been such a good decision for our comic!
