So I'm sure there have been threads about this before in the past, but I figured I'd start a new one here where people could...you know, just post random art to do with their comics. Drawings, sketches, character designs, locations, etc, etc.Whatever to do with your comic!

Post it here. Anything and everything is welcome as long as you drew it, it's related to your own comic in some way, and it's not an official page of your comic. Feel free to comment, brainstorm, critique, whatever. Have at it y'all!

I will start things off in this thread with some recent stuff I did for my comic's week long story arc starting today...

I made a little promo piece of art originally for the week long mini story arc I'm doing in my comic...

Basically it's supposed to a parody of those old 1950s/60s style comic covers or movie posters kinda...

What's the shock? Well...

My main character Charlotte, who normally has short hair suddenly has long hair!

And I almost forgot this other piece! I discovered this piece from last year I hadn't colored of James and Claire together that I decided to finish.

Here's various artworks I've done for Centralia! Most of it's just fun stuff that's not tied to the plot. Helps me from getting bored drawing cities over and over and I like getting to show the characters in colour. :>

I have those characters in own comic cast I like to draw as well. (These are older drawings I did parodying video game boxart and a certain 80s movie that was basically a video game advertisement for Super Mario Bros. 3, but I still love them.)

I really enjoyed drawing characters of my story, I imagined how they would act or look in different situations. I could say I started This little world just to have opportunity to draw pretty little old houses and fancy clothes lol.

Dang. I'm serious jealous of how well you draw simple things like furniture and stuff like that. So much detail.

I can only imagine. I tend to draw furniture and the like very simple because I tend to focus more on my characters. Actually though, any time I have a scene where I have to draw inside or outside of a car is one of the biggest strains/pain in the butts for me. (And I took two years of mechanical design classes in high school where we designed cars!)

Hmm, but I think, when it comes to comics, it's not nesessary to draw every single detail, the main point here are characters and action. You know, there are comics which are just overloaded with details and they are just hard to read. But it's not better though to avoid drawing such simple things like walls/trees etc. You don't need to draw every cog and little thing in your car, your task as comic artist is to create a space to let your readers know where the action is taking place, I think, and it is possible to do, using few lines (well I hope so, never tried to draw a car..)
I actually also didn't enjoy drawing all these things like background, furniture, surroundings, but I put it in every art just to get used to drawing something else except pretty girls in pretty cloths.

@uhokhjol I definitely don't try to draw every detail into something for sure as my comic originally was more in line with newspaper strips as my original idea...which is why my backgrounds also tend to be just filled in color usually. Though you do bring up a good point about having too much detail in comics can make them hard to read as I also have this idea that if you try to draw tons of stuff in the background of the comic panels, it seems to make it difficult for people to make out your characters in front. They become muddled in with everything and get lost ...If you get what I'm saying. ^_^;

@MoonSquid Your art really looks good. So much detail, and how do you color? I ask cause it looks very much like watercolor painting in a few of your pieces.

@indagold That second picture of yours would look amazing on a T-Shirt if you don't mind me saying. So much crazy rainbow greatness!

@WakaXO I have been enjoying your comic. It's an interesting new take on superhero related comics I'd say. I attempted a superhero comic ages ago, but it never got beyond character designs.
