Moments of social awkwardness to share?

IKR? The funny thing was that we were in Japan, shouldn't she automatically think I was Japnese instead of Chinese? 😂

Also just remember there was this one time I was riding on a bus and overslept my stop, I woke up like an hour later to see barely anyone was still on the bus, the driver looked at me all awkwardly while I just calmly stared out the window and took out my cellphone to call my sister to come and pick me up when the bus made a full round trip back to the station....

I've walked in on two different classes at two different occasions and sat down, because I thought there wasn't a class going on. Both times I had what, I assumed to be the instructors, looked at me funny and told me that there was a class going on.

The perks of going to a college where everyone looks like they're the same age and there are classes of 6 people... :l

oh, lord

once, the bus route finished long before its usual end-of-line, so everyone had to get off. i was listening to music and imagining a scenario surrounding it (it was from a musical, and a favourite, so very easy to get immersed in) - an old lady had been shouting at me to get off the bus for like, a good five minutes.

then, for the rest of the trip on a replacement bus, she complained very loudly about it to the whole bus. when i took out my phone to change the music she said 'look see you couldnt hear me because of your music! if you just left one earphone out, youd hear me.' and kept banging on that i should go around on this (very VERY loud bus) w one earphone hanging out. i jus shrugged and said 'shit happens'

she also thought i was a boy. shit happens

Oh man don't know where to start....I have few social awkward moments. I guess I can bring up this story from three weeks ago. So I was playing Pokemon GO and someone was taking over the gym near my place so I decided to walk out there and knock down his/her gym and own it. While I was owning the gym I suddenly had two more players joining my gym and I look around my surroundings and I saw two guys that look older than me that were hiding behind few trees and staring at me. So I decided to go over there and greet them, but while I was heading over there they quickly walk away from me.

Once I was at a bar and this dude pulled me aside and was like 'My girlfriend is a werewolf' and I didn't really know what to say so I was like 'Oh cool' and he was like 'It's the full moon this week' and I still didn't know what to say except 'Cool' and then his girlfriend came over and smelled me?? And this guy was like 'She's caught your scent... We're interested.'

Just like anyone else I definitely say "You too" when waiters say "enjoy your meal" and stuff, but gosh. Getting propositioned for a threesome by a werewolf has to be my top most awkward moment. And getting sniffed. Apparently I smell like threesome material x _ x

There was also this other club guy, and it didn't matter what your conversation started as-- He would make the conversation about Stalin or Hitler. It was really awkward, and once before going out my friends and I made an escape plan. One of my friends hadn't ever met him. I managed to enact the escape plan, but Stalin guy was already talking to her and she was unaware. After we left she was like "I thought I was safe, but that must've been the guy because that conversation suddenly was all about Stalin from a totally different topic." I felt so bad for ditching her :"D

Ha, that sounds like some of the stories I have about Anime Boston and getting some weird propositions from some people. Some were subtle, others not so subtle and I was just too weirded out to do anything but walk away. XD

I really loved one particular issue of Finder: Talisman by Carla Speed McNeil that had been lent to me by a friend, about a little girl who has a story read to her as a child and becomes consumed with finding that book and learning the half-remembered story. It was a comic I wanted to find again and I was legitimately thrilled to happen upon it at a comics convention.

I told Ms. McNeil that I was really happy to get the chance to finally buy this comic, which is not an abnormal thing to tell a creator and would've been a good stopping point. "It's funny," I added, eyes wide with excitement, "because it's about a girl haunted by a story, but your story has haunted me."
"Oh my," she said, sounding concerned, and that was the moment I realised this was perhaps an odd thing to share with a stranger.
I thanked her like a normal person and ran away.

Yesterday I was playing PokemonGO on my bike and totally crashed into a tree while trying to catch a frigging pidgey .-.

People came running and asking if I was OK... I just wanted to get away ASAP in shame xD

I can relate to that, but....I kinda hit my forehead from the pole for looking down at my phone and trying to catch other pokemons. SHAME! xD

Oh man I dont think authors signings can't be awkward and humiliating. I met the guy who made Rocko's Modern Life and I was like "I love your book, I got to study from it in a class and it was so good" but he thought I meant they copied the book and were giving us students illegal copies... He got really aggressive and I wanted to leave really fast, but I I went with friends and they wanted to pose for pictures with him. The picture has everyone smiling but you can see the pain in my eyes.

We were having a physics mid term exam and I finished quite early (partially because I have given up on answering) then I recall a hilarious scene on a manga I read last night and laughed.

Same! A lot of people tell me I look Chinese and when people come up to me to speak Mandarin to me and I say I don't speak it they give me this slightly appalled look until I tell them I'm not Chinese XD

Also back when I used to work in a thrift store a lot of older men would approach me and their ice breakers were always saying "Nǐ hǎo" followed by asking my age and then following me around the store for a while =.=

One time in my college days, it was the first day of the semester. The professor instructed us to go in the front and introduce ourselves since it's a speech class. Then after that, we took notes and important stuff like class's syllabus, and we even have a short lecture. It took like an hour and a half before the professor finally took a roll.

Sooo, what's the awkwardness? I found out I wasn't part of that class and my real class was next door. FFFUUUUUUUU!!!!!

About, gosh I forgot how many years ago maybe junior high? I had gotten obsessed with the games Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh back when it was Pokemon Gold and before the Yu-Gi-Oh anime started getting spinoffs. My entire thought process was taken over by trading card strategies and I'd had this huge three ring binder of cheats for the video games.
. . . I'd talked people's ears off on Gaming stats and strategies for about three years.
. . . My family almost thought I was secretly worshipping the little monsters when in reality I got swept in and immersed myself in the stuff like one would immerse oneself in a good book. Apparently I didn't know I needed to expand my range of hobbies.
It's not until I sat alone in my room, realized how much of a weirdo I'd been and subsequently switched to toning my love of anime down a notch or thirteen. I started reading Manga instead.
Jing the King of Bandits is a lovely series. They even come with super shiny book covers that can flash signal the teacher of who's reading in class. By high school, I was the kid who learned to hide my comic books in front of a text book because if I took the book out and the cover is bright and shiny the biology teacher took it away.

we are very awkward people these would be so funny if they were made into comic shorts hahahahah but i dont think these are as bad as my awkward moments (i dont want to say s lot coz im hella embarrassed so ill say the most recent one... the first thing that pops in my head when i read the word "awkward" )

okay so i was walking alone in the hallway area trying to find my friends, as i was walking a saw my friend going downstairs at the end of the corner but there a boy walking at the same hallway where i was walking (i didnt quite notice him coz i was distracted finding for my friends.) so i ran towards my friend with my arms spread open and screamed her name, i dont think she heard me coz i have a soft voice. When i was running i noticed that the boy was looking at me like he was kinda laughing but i didnt really care coz i didnt know why he was laughing. so the next day i realized that he was kinda of popular and that he and i were in the same class in a subject and so he approached me and introduced himself.... he had like the same name as my friend.... BAM

also im the type of person who doesnt tell people i like anime and manga and so i drew on a piece of paper some realism and inside there was a type of fanart and yeah so i dropped it and lost it then my friend said that he saw it with someone so that person was my friend...friend idk what to call him... and hes sort of a weaboo idk but he likes those stuff too but ughhh he was the worst person to find it, it was like he was pretending he didnt know what was in there...
theres a lot of times i try to find it but im not too successful...

I accidentally apologized to someone while opening the door for them. This has happened multiple times.

I was playing with my friend's cat and said "Lick me" in a commanding tone. My friend's back was turned, she didn't know the cat was in the room, and she got startled and confused because she thought I was talking to her.

So I've only been on a date once in my life and it was horrible....But luckily I never saw him again... Right?

So today I ran into him at Walmart. He was like "Hey, you look familiar." Me (with much shorter hair) just looked at him weird. He said, "Have we met before?" I then said, "We have met but I prefer not to acknowledge it." And just walked away. I hope to god he didn't remember.
