Music to pump you up when writing

I find that I get a lot of ideas from music. When I first started coming up with characters I would actually take a line from songs I listen to and create a complete character background from it. Currently with ch 3 being drawn out I am storyboarding ch 4 and listening to intense emotional music to give me ideas. I tend to listen to dubbed story driven songs. Right now though I am listening to battle music and openings from anime I really enjoyed. Specifically Re:Zeros OST Theater D. I think right now the beat and mood of that song best gets me motivated to storyboard this chapter!

Whenever I draw or I do stuff in general music that can keep me focus in the proyect and just stay in the background with some cool rythmic feel helps something like Ratatat, instrumental music helps more in my opinion. For music that inspire you anyone with good cinematic feel in anykind (like the ost from Re:Zero you said) helps but I wouldn't recomend work with that, just brainstorming.

I looked into it awhile ago to see why music works well when i work on stuff and Instrumentals are great pretty much anything without actual words in them. But The OST for Re:Zero really worked for me becuse it has the offsetting tone and atmosphere that I was looking for since CH 4 involves a lot of combat against a foe that overwhelmingly powerful. I tend to really enjoy storydrivien songs when I am doing my tower sweeps at work. the mix of moving around while listening to intense musical stories always seems to get my thoughts flowing quickest. ^.^

I do that a lot while at work. I work night shift desk post where about 7 hours of the day I just write and daydrem lol with music in the background I tend to get most of my graphic novel work done there actually lol

I've been playing Disney's ambiance music because it's so nice (and long so i dont have to switch tabs to change it)

I usually draw in silence or watch some series on the other half of my screen. But Nightcore can speed up the drawing quite a bit.

@Lucazu No problem I am a writer so I worded it that way but in general its about what music or thing you do to get you in the moment with your creation. ^.^

I absolutely can't listen to music while I write. It's way too distracting when I'm trying to piece together ideas. Drawing on the other hand, is intensified by music, especially during the inking/colouring phases.

I don't really put on music while writing, the lyrics and melody distract me from the words I'm trying to formulate in my head. But I do have the TV on in the background a lot of the time.

I can not listen to music when I write. When I listen to music, my brain converts it into color and images (sort of like Fantasia) which makes it very difficult to form words (yet it makes it very easy to do math apparently). I can also sometimes "hear" movement, it makes watching animated gifs weird.

Though, I do sometimes use music to brainstorm.

Can't work without music. Most of the time it's 1920's hot jazz and show tunes, which helps since my comic is set in that period.
