Hi. I'm blocked on writing my outline. c': Weird things keep coming up to block me that I know I can fix come second or third drafts, but one thing that keeps pulling my hands off my keyboard and causing me stress is that I've realized that my story has no main or steady villain/antagonist. It does have antagonists - each chapter focuses on a 'challenge' that the protagonist finds unique ways of overcoming, and those challenges are sometimes in the form of people or monsters - but there's no one person or source, and I'm worried that this is going to kill the story, mostly because so many of the graphic novels I've read don't do this.
I'm curious to know if the majority of people feel this is paramount to a good comic. It works in other mediums, like character studies (Finding Nemo, for example, where Marlin is his own worst enemy, but has sharks, angler fish, jellyfish and seagulls for antagonists), but as a certified noob I'm not sure if it makes good web-comic material.
If you have a comic that doesn't have a main villain, I'd love if you shared it here. c:
