@InTheEndlessMidnight same! I wanted to write something else than my main story, although they're not connected. I wanted to work on things I find a problem or issues in my main story. That, and I'm somewhat writing my main story, but still love it. Just that I wanted a breather.
I didn't write yesterday so I'm trying to catch up my absence today. I also noticed how fucking slow I am writing essays with a strict word count than novels that do. The main point of the essay can easily be said with 300 words of less but I have to catch up to the minimum of 500 words qwq.
The research paper used wasn't that hard to understand either, just have jargons that I have to google to understand what they meant.
But while I was frustrated with the requirement, I still find a bit of learning. While understanding and insight can be simplified, there's always a needed for context to prove that you have learn/understood the topic. It's also need when trying to prove a point when this or that aren't great or are.
After years stuck in school, I now understand the basics of an essay, lol.
