I've been doing NaNo for almost ten years, I started in high school and my teachers HATED my in Novembers lol. I haven't one since 2015 (but I tripled the word count that year so I guess I used up all my words then, that was the highest I got for NaNo!). I still participate every year anyway because even if I don't win it's words I wouldn't have written otherwise.
I'm a major pantser. I may start out with an idea and max an extremely vague outline, but I just like to go and let it come out organically. Can mean a good bit of editing when I fudge lore details because I don't have my notebook handy. But I've gotten some very high word count novels that way so I'm not too distressed by that.
I haven't published a NaNo novel, but I've published other stuff. I'm too lazy to edit NaNo novels xD I just count them as exercise.
I have 0 talent with drawing so I don't have to worry about a comic being in the way of writing, but I have a full time job plus other commitments so it will be interesting to see how high my word count gets this year ^-^ I have a novel which is part of a larger project that I've been planning for months and I'm stoked for November so I can actually get started on it
