Hi All,

I have started my webtoons around 6 months ago and am having a hard time drawing viewers. I haven't been receiving a lot of feedback so I'm not sure exactly what I'm lacking (I'm in experienced)

I feel that the story is hard to follow but would like other opinions - please let me know what you think! I'm willing to fix and readjust a lot of things (I've been constantly doing it) but I'm not sure.

My webcomic is here:

Thank you so much in advance!

Why hello there!
I just took a quick look at your comic for the moment, but I feel like I should start by saying: Don't change your story just to attract an audience. Love what you write. Write for you. Write something that you would enjoy reading. At least then, it will always be fresh and exciting to you.
Writing for others is a massive waste of time because it is impossible to please everyone. As well, there's no way to know what people will actually want. Having dynamic, relatable characters is really the only way to assure success.

That being said, I feel my advice to you is actually art based. I'd recommend working on your colouring and line work. Try to add an extra layer of polish to your art. Colour is what draws people in. It's the first thing they see. Add some shades, colour dimension, etc.
This channel has some great colouring advice:

Thank you so much for your advice and for the link! I'll check it out as well as spending more time working on both line art and color

I've read a couple chapters and I like it so far. I think the quirky art goes well with the story and the characters. But I also feel like everyone can always be improving art too- it's an endless journey XD. I'll try to give more feedback story wise after I read more than just the first updates..

I did notice you seem to update not on a schedule, I know a lot of being scene at first is updating frequently/consistently and at good times of the day. Just something to think about.

If you're trying to reach a wider audience you could also try asking around in the cross promo thread... If you want I don't mind doing a cross promo with you, I remember what it's like having only a hundred subs and wanting more and cross promo helped me get out of that.

Thanks for your response! I initially updated bi-weekly but haven't really stuck on an exact date due to working full time on top of drawing comics. I'm currently trying different methods to improve my productivity and speed so that I can update more consistently (and maybe stretch it to one update a week after a year or so). But yes - the goal is to definitely post more consistently

I try to shoot for posting midweek (Wednesday/Thursday) as I've been told that posting on weekends don't work too well. In the beginning I posted on Saturdays and Sundays... haha

I'll look into cross promo! I'm at work right now and will let you know! Thank you so much for the suggestions

I've personally found Wednesday to be the absolute worse day of the week to update. So maybe try a different day XD (Although I am in a different genre so who knows) Also time of day can matter.

You can also always try giving shorter update so that you post more frequently. I personally do shorter updates for this reason.

Hmmmm... I guess I'll have to just post around different days of the week and see the results hahaha.

I did much shorter updates in the past but readers have complained about flow - so i ended up combining a few episodes and then I guess it got long enough for me to make it near impossible to get it done in one week. Maybe it was how I ended the chapters in the past that made it appear too abrupt.... I'll see what I can do - thanks for the advice!

Side note: I realized I posted this in the wrong thread - I was trying to look for ways to move this to the reviews category but couldn't find it gah
