Need assistances: Illustrations in novels and what app you using

Soooo, am new here and haven't started posting my novel yet (cause am still working on it), anyways i have some questions i'd like answers to.
1. where and how are you supposed to put illustration in your novel, especially if it's like a light novel type of novel, like what canvas size are you drawing on?, how many illustrations are supposed to be in a chapter?, how big should the drawing be?
2. how long does it take you to finish up a chapter (typing wise), and what's your novel word count?
3. where do you type you novel (like what app do you use?).

1. I haven't added any pics to my novel but i bet you could make the illustration the size of a page. Don't make it too long though, tried that before and then my chapter wouldn't get posted.
2. Now I'm on hiatus but I used to post weekly. I've heard some people post bi-weekly so you could do that if your busy.
3. I use onenote, I like the dark mode on it. I hear some people use the free version of grammarly to write. I've used google-docs in the past before, it's pretty good since you can get others to edit the doc too.

as some one who as one illustration on every episode
1) size wise it doesn't matter what does matter is how many megabytes the image is. I mostly make my pic 1000X 1000 px, occsionally above that size and save as jpegs for my final image. You can only have a max of 5 images per episodes
2)I'll say depends. all my episodes are written in advance. So my whole novel is already done. and my illustrations normally take 3 hours max

Most web novel sites, including Tapas, allow you to upload your pictures from your computer. Some like Royal Road might require you to upload the picture on another site, copy the link, and then paste it in a specific area.

You can do any size you want, really. My pictures tend to be 250 x 500, but not always. I learned over time that it's better for pictures to be in landscape (horizontal) rather than portrait (vertical).

When I first started posting my novel, I didn't have a quota of pictures I should post per chapter, but now I've settled on having at least one. If it's a short chapter, I try not to have the pictures take up more space than the text. Otherwise, I just put however many I want.

2. how long does it take you to finish up a chapter (typing wise), and what's your novel word count?

For me, this really depends. Keeping up with a schedule stresses me out, so I just don't. Sometimes I've been able to churn out multiple chapters within a week. Other times, it takes months. My current word count according to Tapas is 160K words.

3. where do you type you novel (like what app do you use?).

I usually write with Google Docs. I like the autosave feature it has.

1. I think canvas size doesn’t matter as much as MB size since there’s a limit.
2. I usually take anywhere between 1- 4 days to write one chapter, depends on how much time I have to write. My chapters are all split in 4 though, so I can easily write 1/4 a day.
3. I use Google docs.
