Since my comic does include a good portion of action and I‘m pretty new to this, I need a little clarification on something, especially since a few threads about censorship have been flying around the forums recently and I’m getting worried that even this one might be too much…
So, for context:
The main group will encounter one of the enemy-types in the story called „Phantasms“. They aren‘t really organical creatures, but do look like they are. Up until way later in the story, these don‘t contain blood, but a different substance that allows them to regenerate pretty quickly. To kill them, one must „crack them open“, to reveal their core. If the core shatters, the creature will basically dissolve.
The chapter itself is one where I want to elaborate on the magic system, so of course, it will have some nice special effects, once I sketched down all the episodes for it.
Now for the scene itself:
As you might see, the body of the Phantasm is pretty bulky, so it is logical that they try to get rid of its head, to lay open its core and defeat it. By hitting it with the magic attacks - which are definitely the focus, the head itself dissolves, so that the open part is going to appear like just a dark gooey mass inside, no organs, but there‘s gonna be a gem, which one of the two attackers just needs to shatter to win, before it can regenerate. The regeneration itself won‘t even be happening, because they‘re gonna be quick enough, but they‘ll explain it after the fight.
Back to the question:
I already plan on including a warning at the beginning of the episode, but I wanna make really sure. Since my drawing skills aren’t skilled enough for that anyway, I wouldn‘t count it as gore (As I stated, I‘m planning to have it as a gooey or maybe even gum-like mass), but it might be seen differently.
Is it too much already? And if so, what can I do to go around this?
