New years resolutions

I normally only come up with them right at the end of the year on silvester although I often have a vague idea already. This year, I'm really not sure yet.

For one, I think I'd like to keep my wordcount goal which was one million this year.
Then, I'm thinking of doing two projects that would be related by theme and might make interacting with readers more fun.
I also think I'm going for at least 6 publications the year again but I'm not really sure there yet since I still have several long projects ongoing and the last novel took four months because I could only do weekly releases. So I'll have to think about this a bit more.

As for how I make sure I reach them: I write them down on a piece of paper and pin it to my whiteboard, then look at it every now and then and check off what I managed to achieve.

For the wordcount goal, I have a calc file where I put in my daily wordcounts so that I always know how much I've written so far. The monthly goal was 100k words per month this year which worked out fine other than in the month where I had to hand in my master's thesis. So I think I'll continue with doing it this way.

Wow sounds like you have quite a large quantity of things to do next year. Keep up the good work. I should really add a word count for the year to my list.

Haha, yes. But I'll have to see if it'll work out. This year I was still in university but now I've finished (just waiting for them to issue the papers already) so I need to work more on my job now. Or suddenly become super-rich with writing but let's not be delusional

Art related stuff I 'think' I could do over the next 12 or so months:

• Finish (or at least be close to) the next 9 chapters of Terra Prima. It took me about a year to do the fist 9 chapters, though my skills have changed and now I also do the pages in color, so not sure it will be possible. But it's worth trying.
• Do another practice short comic. I managed to do one this year; the focus was on colors and composition (I only learned to color digitally this year). Still need to work on some details but I'll probably upload it on Tapas once I'm happy with it. For the next one I was thinking the focus should be machines and mechanical objects.
• Get better at drawing anatomy and clothes, especially the latter.
• And overall, just enjoy drawing and the learning process.

I've always wanted to get really good at Smash Bros.

That and start doing bi-yearly promotional emails to art directors, but I'm looking forward mostly to the Smash bros thing.

I'm always a tad over-ambitious with resolutions, but as long as a I can do some of these, I'll be happy.

• Get a gosh darn regular job
• Build a sculpture portfolio
• Finish at least one short comic
• Start a longform sketch comic on patreon
• Get back into animation
• Make a few new friends
• Go to therapy
• Make that doctor's appointment already
• Finish that novel
• Abs

I picked up a lot of good habits this year. Indtead of adding new ones I want to be more consistent and holistic with the ones Ive already started

Abs are life I am working on that too. This years resolution was going to the gym a few times a week and I succeeded ^.^ gained 30lbs in muscle o.o now im slightly less of a bean pole lol

For previous year, I had a simple purposes -

Comics: don't give up on comics ¯(ツ)/¯ Personal: don't give up on life ¯(ツ)/¯

and I fulfilled them. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think I can aim for the same in 2020

I am just very tired in the end of this year, so I cannot even think of resolutions Well, let's see, I've already started doing all those things this month, now the goal is to continue.

• Use more new recipes ^^ This year was a bit mundane. Will try to make a Stollen for the first time next week!
• Learn some taijiquan form and make a better morning routine. I just started learning some taiji moves, they are different from my usual wushu, but I hope it will help me relax a bit.
• Try to create a more efficient colouring process. It became much better this year, but still not quick and good enough.
• Start doing some actual pages of 2 more comics (they both are kinda sci fi, and I am so so bad with even thinking about sci fi). I am not sure I will finish all the concept art this year, but I better do it before new year too xD

Try to get my arms healthy enough to start back working on my comic
Try to finish Ch 3 this year so that I can print & sell it
Get my site put together
Try to look into other endeavors such as working on a story for an anthology

Non comic resolutions:
Try to get healthy/exercise more
Pay off the last of my debts
Make sure my car stays fixed enough to get through this year so that I can pay my debts off

With goals being cons in 2021 or early 2022.
