@joannekwan @amcodamonkey

I wonder about that if it where holidays I would see a drop off in December and January plus other months with big holidays or vacation times like June and July. But they stay relatively stable while November drops like an anchor.

I don't know about final Exams since I'm not from US but, do they only have one exam a year? if so that could explain it

@IdiotWithPencil In the US people usually get plenty of days off in December and January to enjoy their holidays, and to read comics, whereas for Thanksgiving (a lot of people's favorite holiday) in November you get almost no time off, and what time off students get they spend studying because end of semester exams are after. (Exams are usually early December and mid May.)

According to your graph there was a big drop off in July and August, as well as May which is the other finals month. and in Jan you weren't doing too great.

The thing with Nov is you get everything all in on. It's approaching midterms/finals, there is a big family holiday with barely any time off and the days you do get off are spent cooking for thanksgiving or shopping for xmas.

Duuude, thank you so much for bringing this up, I didn't realise it :astonished:

It makes total sense because of what people says.

That makes it a perfect month to slow down if you need it, stop the posting if you need to build buffer, or whatever :grinning:

It's also Nanowrimo for authors. Not sure if that makes a huge difference, but for me personally I'll be mostly focused on writing 50k words instead of reading books/reading comics.

Maybe that's the real reason behind Inksgiving.

Tapas staff saw this and invented an event that drew people in those feverish days :thinking:

Thank you all for commenting, so basically november in USA is a microcosm of all that which makes people not want or able to read comics from exams and holidays planing to 0 days off

sound tough XD, but at least I have my answer and it seems to have helped some people at least know what months to take a break

=)

most likely I mean me with just one small comic stats could notice the drop I bet tapas with so many comics stats saw it immediately.

I wonder if inskgiving actually helps boost interaction or usage of the site enough to stabilize the drop-off =/

I don't think enough, because the drop off is still there, but it keeps some interaction, so when you look at the daily stats, the thing doesn't seem so huge, at least for me.

It also keeps artists working to get some ink and not feel guilty if they've done nothing in the month.

Is it possible that there's a glitch in the stats of November and that's why there's a huge drop there?

I'm comparing the daily stats with the monthly one and the numbers don't coincide.

Edit: I feel like I just solved a riddle :no_mouth:

@michaelson

Check the daily stats in those months, do they coincide with the total of the month itself? :thinking:

yeah I misread what you said the first time and double checked and it doesn't add up- edited my other post to clarify! It is glitched.

I already mentioned a staff memeber back when I said it might be glitched :thumbsup:

@xabelmind
thanks man =D

just placed the actual datas in the table XD

so yeah november really was gliched as all heck =/ wonder what the heck is up with the code to make it just target november? hope they fix it soon =D

So I track my stats on a spreadsheet including totaling the likes, and I noticed some weird things happening too. I randomly lose large amounts of views and likes? Almost like my stats are going backwards? On a day where I counted notifications for about 50 likes on one series, it negatively deducted them from my total somehow? To the point where I stopped tracking likes because even though I knew likes were going up, the numbers kept jumping all over the place. I haven't noticed this happening with views, but I don't usually go too in depth with it.

I just looked and there's definitely a bug because Nov last year I won Writer's Camp with this book, and I definitely had more than 25 subs to pull that off!

Yeah here it is in Daily view LOL WTF

that really is weird, it could be the nov glitch or tapas has begun efforts of eliminating bot views?
=/
though on the "likes" side, could it be they also take away a "like" when somebody de likes a page?
or do they just count it like alike and you can create various like by liking delinking constantly?

The same happened with my account, it's saying I had no subscribers last November when I know I had about 70 because it was my highest ever.
I'm just used to numbers on Tapas being weird. Last week I got 15 new subscribers but I also lost 14 subscribers? I've had it happen a few times where I've lost almost the exact number of subs I gained when most of the time I lose barely any subs but I've always put it down to coincidence.
My creator page always shows 5 more subs than my comic page too, I only have 1 series and I have no idea if it's possible to follow a creator and not their comic.
