( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I guess I spent a lot of time, checking out various webcomic sites, but also checking the terms and conditions, the small print of these sites is where we gotta read and check up.
I have never used Webtoons, though in the past, during the early days of Tapastic (only those oldskool comic boofs would know Tapas' original name!) I was tempted to make a Webtoons account to join alongside with Tapastic, as creators we want to be on many sites as possible to obtain as many hits on obtaining our own audience. Though yeah, Webtoon's rules was always the deal breaker, also the kind of comics you see on it, it shows the kind of audience it caters for, I guess me uploading my comic there would be insta-removed without question.
Tapas took the time to email me, and I think the communication between myself and them. What was nice is the fact that, they did not outright remove me, I guess having a lot of subscribers would have soured things between myself and them.. and the subs!
But thanks to communication between Tapas and myself, we came to an agreement on what is and is not allowed - I think you might remember there was a long topic about NSFW comics on Tapas and BL comics - what was considered allowed and not allowed.
I feel as creators we have two choices:
1) Work with the platform and come to a mutual consensus on what is agreeable to be hosted on it's site.
2) Accept the platform rules and depart, build your own webcomic site and make it grow and market it.
