Well since @abigaillmartin did history crushes and @pjthetoonaddict is not even trying to recover from this Mr. Freeze obsession lol, let's all just share our characters inspired by crushes. These don't have to be serious crushes, or even real people. They can be living or dead, and so on.

Kattar (Damsel in the Red Dress) is pretty obviously my ideal type XD. I think he's partially inspired by the rapper WhatupRG (Raul Gonzalez) as well as Hwang Hyunjin. (Which only makes sense as he's Mex-Korean)

I just love Raul's accent. High-key Mexicans have some of my favorite accents. Might be my favorite or tied with Kiwi

Yoon Jinho (Sun with a Paper Crown) is named after my bias in Pentagon and is an absolutely adorable little round-faced smol bean like him XD. (Though not quite as short lol)

I have more but I won't share them all now.

Hey, can you blame me? I love a German powerhouse who loves his wife.

I asked a friend to do an Otto commission for me and she IMMEDIATELY clocked that Mr. Freeze was the inspiration.:joy:

XD. Well it is what is lol. I've yet to had any art made of Kattar by anyone, but I'm sure all my close friends can easily see my ideal type in him. VERY easily.

I personally like the German accent too when they speak softly. I used to watch YT videos from this artist name Laovaan and his voice was so attractive...yep...just his voice lol

I only have one German male character tho (inspired by the large German population on my island) and he's deaf and non-verbal (he does sign but as none of his friends do they just text each other)

Meh. Clowns are cool. I like a guy or girl with a steady job in theater. Love the person, regardless of the uniform.

Okay I was just confused how it related to the topic Xd. I personally like musical theatre and Cirque Du Soleil, could take or leave clowning specifically lol. My mother used to perform on stage and I've been fond of musicals for as long as I can remember

I think so, but I've never seen any of her performances tho I heard she was good. She stopped performing before I was born. But she was in "For Colored Girls Only who have considered s**cide when the rainbow is enough." It inspired the title of the collection of photographs my FL was in "Colored Girls Only."

Same lol. I have to find somewhere or way to see it. I asked her once if she would perform her part for me to see because she said she still remembered it, but she wouldn't TT lol

There's always a romantic interest character in my books who's based on my eternal crush. He's a drag queen from Japan, lol. I adore the man and have for over twenty years, since I was in high school and he was 19. He's a singer and acts so beautifully and elegantly on stage. I have no idea how he's so elegant there, because he's a complete goof and not the sharpest crayon in the box in real life. I can't describe how adorable he is. He's very femme when out of makeup and costumes, and just acts cute. There's no other way to describe it. The man gets lost in parking garages when he does not own a car. He'll walk for ages in the wrong direction and wonder why his destination is not getting any closer on Google maps. So adorable. He truly cares about his fans and asks about how we're doing all the time. We're a small group, really. I met him once, and he said the most encouraging things. We held hands as he spoke to me. I'd thanked him for being a lgbtq activist and using his platform for good things. We spoke for a while about it, and he said he uses it to fight for people like me who are not heard. I will love him forever. Strangely, I don't necessarily even want a romantic relationship with him. I write him as a romantic interest in my books, because I'd rather think about him than anyone else as I write. I think he's a great example of the LGBTQ community in Japan, so why not base characters off of him? I love him on a deep level, so my characters' relationships are always incredibly deep and complex. I could talk about him for hours, and I indeed talk about him for days and weeks and years in my books. If you read my books, you'll fall for him, too. He's Tetsu in "Lyra's Magnum Opus", he's Kazuya in "French Cup", he's Tatara in "Every Day is Beautiful with You". All by me, SumireHime. These characters are always the ones my readers fall the most in love with. I couldn't be happier for that being the case. Everyone should love him.

Dita from vandread inspired Claudita's char design

Aerith from FF7 inspired Emmalee.

Firstly...how dare you. :joy:

Secondly, did you draw this? If so, it's super well done. :joy:

How dare I? I dare because it is the truth 🤣

And no I didn't haha. Pulled this from google, don't think I'm quite at that level just yet.
(Though I'm also not that far off either, if I do say so myself )

Riley from Rigamarole basically looks like every kind of in-person guy I had a crush on when I was younger. White teenage boy with shortish curly hair. The more emo the better lol (okay, not really, but eyeliner and nail polish are a go.)

Sugar Land, from my comic with the same name, is based on someone I had a crush on. Tho, I changed his appearance so it’s less creepy. But he was short, thin, and androgynous.

On another hand…for my character Zombra Blueberry, he was originally supposed to be a man with a skin condition that made him look like a raisin, purple and wrinkled. However, over the years, he sort of evolved into a DILF.

I don't think it's creepy to base a character on a crush lol. Just so long as you know, don't make it an over-the-top self-insert fan-fiction. Ig basically so long as it's inspired by, rather than actually just writing the person into your story.

I try to avoid making characters based off of real people. Sugar is definitely inspired but different enough that I doubt anyone would figure out who it is.

well everyone works differently. I don't know how many characters I would say I have based on real people, but I know I have a few in a few stories.

I do have another character from my high school days called Marshmallow who was based off my crush at the time. But I am not sure if I am going to add him into my comic.

I don't have any that are based off of specific crushes, but a fair amount of my favorite traits are spread out among the cast of Apparent Secrets. The same thing goes for things I don't like; a little bit of everything gets mixed in. I find that it keeps me from getting hung up on one character over another, especially when it comes to male leads and coworkers/friends.

I like so many of my characters, so this isn't a problem for me. most of them have traits I consider beautiful woven in even if they aren't based on crushes XD. even the evil ones

it could be interesting i think to base characters off of real people, but ofc, only if you thinks it suits your story and writing style XD

I am super concerned about using someone's likeness if they did not consent to it. Just like I would dislike if someone did that to me.

Marshmellow is a little different because I was trying to design a dad for my OC and I made him look like my crush despite at the time, my crush was a teenager. Marshmellow is much older than the real person. So the two don't have much parallels outside of having the same race and wearing glasses.

Oh no, not to make the real person a character in your story, I was just saying to inspire them off of a real person. I think most people do that to some extent

Okay...I think now may be a good time to inform you guys that I am not only a Terrifier fan, but I recently dressed up as Art and stayed in character for a convention.
