Offered a free item to promote?

I have been offered a free item if I can promote it within my comic, and while I am interested, I am admittedly wary. Has anyone else gotten such a request?

Have you taken the promoter up on their offer? While featuring the product, is there any "must do" and "don't do" items?

(I have a PO Box, so I don't have to worry about putting my name and address out there.)

The sponsor will usually give you guidelines to follow.

Be aware that some sponsorships are scams, even if they look good. You should be REALLY careful about who you accept working with, and you should check to see what other creators have worked with them, and maybe talk to those folks first. Good luck!
