Yay! Glad to see a fellow older creator here! I subbed to your comic, its frickin adorable, my friend!
Here's mine:

It is a story that I put off for almost 12 years due to self-doubt and pessimism, and at the age of 27, I finally decided to push myself and make it. Balancing a family, job and studies (masters degree), its a lot of work and yet I strive to draw every single day and tell my story.
Thanks for the thread!

What a lovely story (of yourself and your works), thanks for sharing! Also hearty congratulations on the next big step in your life! <3

Hello fellow millennials. I, too, am depressed lol

I’m 32 and have been doodling since I figured out how to hold a pencil and have been writing for nearly as long (although, I wouldn’t say I’m particularly adept at either, but it fills the void just a smidge, which is lovely) I have a novel that I just started writing with no plan whatsoever (do not do this, I have no idea what to write for it next and I’m closing in on what I had written previously) and a comic I’ve been writing for nearly a decade (however, I am colorblind and terrible at perspective/backgrounds, so idk man I guess I’m just a mess)

They’re both passion projects that I’ve put a lot of myself into, and to see any amount of people enjoy them has been such an incredible experience.

For Julian Rhydderch; I’ve got some mental health issues of my own and am autistic so this was more an exercise in learning emotions and trying to find ways to understand them and maybe the reactions of people around me/how to deal with them. It was never meant to be shared with people, but I allowed friends to read it and they told me to share it.

As for The Tower, I wanted to make a superhero comic with one linear plot. While there are side stories, there’s also a definite end planned. The whole plot is planned, actually, now I just need to get better at art!

Glad I discovered this, hella great! Do you have any socials so I can share your work on mine?I think it deserves MUCH more views and reach than it has.

I'm 34 and working on my first novel Jade Kingdoms! JK will be four years old on August 1st this year too. I began writing JK in order to heal from a personal experience in life and its done wonders for my mental health and improved my art so much. I am proud to call this novel my own, with my art thriving on its storyline and myths. :green_heart:

And its webcomic of short comics meant to hype folks up for my novel! I actually have another one that's a full comic but its up on my Patreon only.

I'm in my mid-30s, and I'm currently working on my first webnovel. I've made a few start-and-stop attempts at creative writing over the years (some Ouran Host Club fanfic here, a rock opera about the Greek hero Theseus there), but I sort of gave up on my grander authorial aspirations when I was younger. Then the pandemic hit, and I had to change jobs to make more time for my kids, and now I have all this extra time and a whole bunch of creative energy that needed an outlet, so here we are.

My story is a BL set in an omegaverse AU, but I'm hoping to attract readers who might normally take a pass on that particular genre for various reasons. The story follows a group of characters living and working at a shelter for Omegas, and aims to grapple with some of the more problematic tropes inherent in the ABO genre. Content warnings for topics relating to abuse & mental health issues, but the overall focus of the story is on hope, healing, and processing trauma through therapy and support. I'm also making a point to steer clear of anything related to dubcon or glamorizing toxic relationship dynamics. We stan healthy relationships over here!

Hmm... If I have to trust my ID card, it seems... Indeed, it seems that I'm older than twenty-five :joy:

I'm self-employed as a day job, changing career after a few years in another one, and I've been writing--and role-playing--since... Uh... For years, do not count after so much time :joy:
I started at a very young age :joy:

May you all have success and happiness in your life!

hello! I am 26, I hope you enjoy my comic <3

Hello, I have a horror comic that I draw in a traditional style and is about vampires, blood, and revenge. I have always been fascinated by the horror genre and history, and with my series, I have found a way to blend those two interests together.

Hello, I am 24 years old and i been writting since i was 15. I love to write about fantasy i am dreaming with write my own manga :3

Currently I am publishing a fanfiction of my hero academia

But in the future I would like to publish some original stories that I am working on

best of the wishes to everybody

This is an awesome thread ! I’m 30 years old and I’ve been drawing for 20+ years and creating characters for 19 years! It’s still my dream to become a Manga Artist and writer so right now I’m working on publishing my novel Captain Kagayaki which I wrote three years ago and started revamping it last year and this year! and soon to work on my manga :v:🏽

My novel Captain Kagayaki: https://m.tapas.io/series/Captain-Kagayaki/info1

33, and doing my best to balance this with ever increasing job responsibilities… I miss the days when writing was a way to procrastinate on finishing a term paper!

I’m new to Tapas and still figuring out how to get eyes on my writing. But the forums seem really helpful!

just turned 26 actually! i'm not super active in the webcomics scene but i have been trying to get more freelance work and art comms (with...far more difficulty than i'd like but hey life)

pretty sure i've been drawing since i could hold a crayon but didn't start taking it seriously until around highschool and really putting myself out there in 2014 when i first joined tapas(tic). it's still a journey and luckily (hopefully) i can continue to learn grow and experiment as i keep doing this art stuff

my work is here:

I'm quite nearly 36 (just give me a month and I'll cash in those extra experience points) and I started my comic because this is the exact kind of story that I wished I had growing up. It's a love letter to my wife, a gift to my children, and an opportunity push myself out of my comfort zone so I can one day become the artist that I always wanted to be.

It's also been a wonderful experience creating alongside all of you. Starting a comic has been extremely nerve-wracking at times, but it's been a wonderful experience to work on my craft (while also working on my own issues of self-esteem and self-worth). I really dig this community and the support of everyone whose helped me thus far. I hope I can give more of those positive vibes back someday.

I turned 30 this year, coincidentally the same year I decided to start up a comic again, I had had one before back when Smackjeeves was still alive (god rest its soul) and have been sort of missing the kind of nice comics making community that site had!

Here’s my comic!

Okay, that's amazing. You have a new subscriber, and you might get a second if my husband likes it as much as I think he might.

I'm 31.
I graduated at the tail end of the recession so I never got a real job and just sort of found myself slipping into freelance. I started making my first webcomic around 2015 and did that for a while. My big ones wrapped up last year. Since then I've been turning to writing, because drawing takes so damn long. I realize my time is short so I have to prioritize which stories to tell and I'm currently prioritizing writing in general, since I can finish a novel faster than a comic.

Anyway, all of my work can be found here. Most everything is completed except for my most recent on-going comic (that's wrapping up atm).

and my current novel which is a sequel to my first, Secunda.
