In the words of the great Britney Spears: "Now get to work, b*tch"
Giving up or whining about it is not going to do anything. It's a passion project; just because you want it to happen does not mean it's going to. You have to create an appealing product, develop skills to "sell" it to creators and investors, and then have the drive to make it happen. This is all going to be difficult if your product is simply put, not good.
Don't expect to make bank out of a passion project. Get it done and out of your system, that's the first thing. If you're worrying about popularity then you're going to be disappointed.
Case in point: When I first started drawing Dead Man's Party, I drew it for a monthly manga competition held by Jump Square. It was a story I had been working on since I was 13 and it was high time I started it at the age of... 24. It was terrible, but I got it done and I sent it out. Obviously didn't make the cut. I was butt hurt, but I had to keep drawing. So I changed the format from a one-off manga to web comics because that was becoming popular at the time. I've been drawing this comic for almost 4 years and it's finally gaining traction. Am I going to make money out of it? Probably not, it's a niche product. But at least I won't be on my deathbed worrying "I wish I had drawn that comic!"
So, that said: You're only 24. Work on immersing yourself in other types of media for inspiration and studying.
Read books! Since it sounds like you're writing something in a mega fantasy world, some Harry Potter books or if you want to go hardcore, some high fantasy like Lord Of The Rings and Wheel Of Time.
Learn some cinematography. Watch the classic movies, watch some new age stuff. Just gorge yourself. Cinematography will help you understand pacing.
Read movie scripts online to study writing.
If you need an artist, Reddit has a sub called Comic Book Collab where people are constantly looking for partners, free or paid.
Hope that helps!
