One series or separate

I'm working on a slice-of-life comic series that focuses mainly on a group of 5 teenage girls.
I also want to do episodes that show them at different ages and points in their lives. Should that be a separate series, or would it be ok all in one?

If it's going to be the same group of characters, it'll probably be better as a single series. Maybe you can organize it so that the time progresses naturally?

You could also just have the gimmick that these are characters who have a friendship that lasts decades, and you just do slice of life stories bookended by their elder selves reminiscing, or something similar. If the character designs are consistent enough, the audience should be able to follow it with just a bit of narration here and there.

I think it's best to combine everything into one series.

A work where you can enjoy episodes with them all together, as well as individual episodes for each of them, in the same series, sounds really appealing.
