oh (explative) the genre question.
Like two of my things are on Tapas that I had no ide what to put them under because they weren't particularly fantasy and they weren't particularly horror in the what people consider horror now. (Dead Souls Doing the Samba being one of them. Absolutely NO idea what to put those under, didn't then, still don't.)
there are so many subgenres. I pretty much beat my own drum and wait to see what happens. I do try to, once something is written find a spot for it but I never sit down nd think... I'll write horror or paranormal (all though I do a fair amount of that.)
Also, here at Tapas it didn't help that the genres they had listed were anywhere near it. Just think of all the subgenres of mystery you have: Romantic mystery, paranormal, cop, detective, cozy, private eye, undertaker, knitting, cats... it's unbelieveable.
For me (and this works for me) I write what I write and then try to fit it in somewhere. I'm sorry it's such a lame ass answer, I hope someone else has something better for you.
