Outside the window - inspiration thread

Simple rule, just post a picture from outside your window, and a scene from your work that was inspired by it. I'm always fascinated in guessing thought bridges between reality and creation...

So I'll start, that:

gave that (the potted city plant from this episode of Effy):

I haven't really drawn anything based on a photograph from my window. Especially since the view isn't that spectacular .
Maybe this can serve as some inspiration for someone else though ? I also noticed that the photo is at an angle, but rotating it a couple of degrees should be enough ! This photo is a week or two old, and we just had a hail storm and then some heavy rain... aaaand sunny weather. Just like that we got ourselves a pretty little rainbow .

The view there is nice, moody and colorful!
I really like the upper part of the first pic, spots of blue sky between sheep clouds walking over grassy land... and the rainbow is ironically striking out the grey building...

I like this drawing very much. I actually imagined you have a houseplant on the windowsill and at the same time this skyscraper view. I have been following the idea of transforming mechanical matter into organic matter and vice versa for 30 years. It is exactly what nature does, it transforms dead matter into living matter and vice versa. But maybe I'm getting too philosophical now...

I do have houseplants, but I'm really bad, and they all die one after another... that's a red pepper plant... that once gave me 1 pepper, and flower from time to time...

What's behind your window?

My window view is boring. Just a few other single family houses and gardens. But here is a section of my work room and my own laboratory in the basement:

That’d scare me to death to face a robot like that when zoning for toilets in the middle of the night, but the link with your comics is quite obvious...

Awesome robots aside, to me, the beauty of window picture is that someone’s boring routine might be really inspiring for someone else... and with time, I miss some of my old window sight, that’s why I try to put some here and there in my work... drawing remembers better than picture...

I love @Alexandritea pics, since my daily routine is quite grey, I sometime forget it can be that expressive and colorful... (i pictured a lot of gazing lamb today, abstract cloudy lines feeding on trees... might do something with that if I find a good angle).
On the other hand, my window nightscape might strike someone else... myriads of tiny lights...

Centipede in an indoor plant, Shanghai in the background. Years ago I was bitten by a Chinese redhead centipede. Unimaginable pain. It turned out that they were brought into our apartmen in Shanghai in plant pots. I will mention this briefly in the next episode of MARB because it fits the theme. You can now guess where the centipede bit me... Btw, you can buy resin-cast Chinese redhead centipedes in the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, even a computer mouse. The Chinese make medicine from these predators. My wife used to collect them as a child in her village.

Centipedes looks better in b&w, you can imagine them crawling up towers as well as plants... creepy feeling....
