Paint Tool SAI/Clip Studio: Blur Tool

Here is the thing:

I used to use SAI and I fell completely in love with it. I love the interface and all its tools, specially the blur tool.
The problem: It's only for Windows...
I have a macbook and I had to install a virtual machine on it only to use SAI but I hate it. So I stopped using it and I also had to stop drawing because it was a nightmare.

I got into the task of finding a similar program to SAI and found Clip Studio, which is nice and all. BUT I HATE THE BLUR TOOL!
I'm currently drawing my comic there but since its in b/w I haven't had any problem. I want to be able to do color drawings again but that darn blur tool is stopping me...
It's not as smooth and it doesn't blend as nicely as SAI's blur tool.

So my questions are:

• If you use Clip Studio, what are your tricks? How do you use your blur tool? What settings do you use?
• Do you know if there are tools you can download for clip studio that are similar to the blur tool?
• For mac users: What program do you use to color? ( I've tried painter but it's not for me...)

That new blending technique isn't bad! That's actually the style of blending I ended up switching to later on, it feels less airbrushy IMO BUT my piece of advice for you would be to just try out different tools that can replicate blending (ex. airbrush with low opacity brush).

That or throw that Mac out, Mac's are poo lol (IMO IMO)

I don't think there's anything wrong with your blending here, actually - though the fact that you've used a very dark picture as the Clip Studio example makes it a bit trickier to see.

I work with Clip Studio, but I hardly ever use the blur-tool - it's too smooth. Mostly, when I blend, I use the paint-brush tool, or the blend-tool. Blur just literally blurs something, but using the paint-brush - which you can fiddle with the settings of to get what you want - you're actually picking up the colour you're drawing on top of, with makes the blending a bit more natural, and prevents that shapeless airbrush look from happening. Using the paintbrush tool means you still get the brush strokes, and you can leave hard edges where you want.
