Paper cutout look

Does anyone know of any good tutorial videos or articles that show you how to give your drawings the paper cutout look?
Like this I suppose.

ironically I think I've found my answer lol, Its pretty much just adding a papery texture to the object (assuming you using photoshop or illustrator) then you give that object a small drop shadow and slightly lower the opacity of the drop shadow. If you want the edginess that the character in this picture has then using the pen tool would probably be the best option.

I was experimenting with a 'fabric' look on my last cartoon... http://tapastic.com/episode/45721
This was photoshopping using the layer mask on the texture and fiddling with the blend settings.
The dark outlines are in a multiply layer on the top.

I got the textures from google by typing 'royalty free textures'

yep pretty much what I'm referring to. I think the only thing different about yours tho is that its doesn't have those subtle drop shadows lining the edges to make it look like its floating above another object. Also giving it an outline makes it look more like its more of an inward 3d effect than outward pop up.

I used a paper cut out style for the first chapter of my comic, Zombie Shark Bear. If you'd like I can definitely put together a step-by-step on how to get that look. Below I've posted some samples so you can see the finished character, Mirai, and how she looks with backgrounds in the comic, too.

Alright, hope this helps (larger version on my tumblr). It's a pretty straightforward technique, but if you have any more detailed questions just let me know and I can definitely answer them. As for finding a good variety of textures, I usually just google search for "royalty free (texture type. ex, cloth) texture", you can usually find some pretty good ones easily. This is the pack that I used for this project.
