Pay rate for colorists

For a comic like mine that has at least 13 pages in an episode and a max of up to 27 pages, how much cash do you think I should pay a colorist if I should ever hire one in the near future

Okay based on what I've heard so far will me paying my colorist a total of 150 dollars for episodes that have a span of less than 20 pages and then 250 dollars for episodes with 20 or more pages to sorta pay in a more fixed rate than paying per page be okay or seem pretty low instead cuz I plan to be uploading twice a month if I can get a colorist or maybe once a month just to give the colorist more than enough time to work on the episode. Or would it rather be best to agree on a certain pay rate each month and if so what amount of pay would be best.

Depends on what kind of coloring you want done, how often you update, etc. Do you want flat colors? Shaded? Shading + lighting? Detailed background colors? And do you need a page done a week, once a day, etc?

I used to do coloring for another webcomic a while back, I think I got paid about $25 a page. At minimum, you're probably looking at 15-20 a page, but the minimum goes for requirements too, which I listed above.

I pay colorist $15-25 a page.

I charge $35/page which includes painting backgrounds, laying down flats and doing shading. I always thought I was on the cheaper side. I think the range is like $25-100 a page depending on how good the artist is and how busy they are. I know if you do the flats yourself you'll save a little bit of money.

I just need flat coloring without shading, as for the background I'm okay with a plain style as long as it follows the pattern I used while drawing

I probably would prefer just the flat colors without shading, I wonder how much that would cost though

an industry rate is roughly 60-80 dollors. Small press is usually 30-50.

I thought of this last night (for myself, not anyone else) I don't know your financial situation, but if you could only spend $100 a month, I could do 4 pages. If you could only spend 200, then 8 pages would be done, and so on. But really, its your money, so how you wish to pay someone is your call. My advice is to ask the people you're considering and asking them how they'd prefer to work and be paid with your preferred budget
