Pentablet vs Pen Display/iPad for COMICS!

I always see with envy people who draw in pen display or ipad.... they look like they're having a good time, they draw so smooth and natural. They are very speed, it seems that their ideas flow very fast when they draw the storyboard

But then I see people like me who use pentablet and are more technical and mechanical. We take longer but the results are better because we take more effort correcting shapes and linearts weights. Our eyes are more trained to detect errors and remain unsatisfied always, and that is a good attribute in the illustration world, but maybe not in the comic/manga world

I want to know the opinion of people who used both ! Pentablet and Pen Display for drawing comics, how do you feel when you are drawing the storyboard and when they are inking

Did pen tablet for years, now a pen display and will never go back. Its just far too time inefficient to stick with pen tablets, and the eye for small detail difference is negligible IMHO

I don't know how true it is that pentablet users are more technical and mechanical, since many, if not most, top industry designer uses pen display nowadays.
I also would not go back to pentablet. It may have forced me to be more aware of the details, but all the undoing and zooming in and out is such a chore. Speed and efficiency are (unfortunately) such important qualities to me, especially for publishing comic.

They’re just tools, both can be used to achieve the same results, but I do find that display tablets make everything so much easier.

I used a standard graphics tablet for years, but after the switch to display tablets, I wouldn’t go back.

These days I use a Wacom cintiq 22, and I’ve recently started to draw on iPad too.

I think if I went back to a traditional graphics tablet I would miss the features of the display tablets and workflow would be slower.

after switching to cintiq/ipad I dont think I can go back to a pen tablet after that, I use it for 3d-animation at work but as soon as I need to draw something my muscles have adapted to drawing on display and its hard adjusting back

Now I feel weird for hating the time I had to use a display tablet at work 'xD Dunno, I just prefer being able to rest my pen tablet on my knees as I lean back at bed as opposed to leaning over a display tablet, having to have my arm up in the air all the time (maybe it was at a wrong angle for me... who knows), oh and I really hated how much it would heat up - working on it during summer was dreadful >.< So, yeah, I'm sticking with my XP Pen Star 03 V2 'xD
