People on hiatus or moving on from Tapas creations, what are you doing now?

In other words, why are you on hiatus or stopped? What are you doing now (creatively, academically, professionally etc.?)

Currently, I'm in a huge long-term in between point where I constantly disregard my creative projects on this platform. Which a lot of us do, but to be honest, I'd be completely open to just abandoning these projects all together. I spent a long time trying to hold on to these kinds of projects but every time i'd think about them I'd just feel exhausted or what have you. So I've kind of moved on, occasionally uploading something as a bit of a creative exercise. I mean, I really do not like the format for web-novels, and I don't quite like the kind of content popular on Tapas in the first place, but that's really besides the point.

Creatively, I'm actually working on a rough draft project for a real book in my free time, but this isn't scheduled or anything, just a hobby. I have basic themes and character arcs outlined but I really just leave a lot of things open to the imagination so I can just have fun writing. I don't really care if it's anything special or original, I write what I think simple as that.
Academically, I'm setting myself up for pursuing a career in Forensic Psychology, and that comes with learning the basics of other Forensic fields, so I have a lot of interesting ideas to think about.

I'm on a hiatus coz my arms have been hurting for the last 6 months, so I'm trying to allow them to heal. They've been hurting for the last 2 years off and on, but I think I really pushed myself at the beginning of this year.

I can relate, the first couple months in I pushed every fiber in my hands to the utmost limit, drawing 8-11 hours a day and stuff it was crazy.

I'm pretty open with nsfw except some things that is not in line with my aesthetic and the wtf stuff. I did certainly won't be accepting commission that I feel overly uncomfortable with. But thanks for that.

I'm on hiatus because my artwork keeps getting more complex and takes too long; I'm spending some time building a buffer again. Sometimes I move quickly, other times I get lost fussing over nonsense.

I also wanted to experiment on IG with different styles and approaches--not comics, just single-panel illustrations to see if there is an approach that I find enjoyable but that is less time consuming but still powerful.

I went on hiatus to build a buffer, I no longer had one due to computer problems, which in turn caused me to have back pains and me being super tired and fatigued from only sleeping for like 4-5 hours each day, on weekdays. Which IN TURN caused a huge decline in the art of the recent episodes.

Now, since it's year-end break for me right now, I have all the time to work on buffer without sacrificing my sleep for it. I might even extend it to June because my laptop completely broke down and erased all progress I had on the most recent episode I was working on. Luckily I managed to back up all episodes.

Edit: also if I do extend it to june, it's also because I'm going to have a vacation in my home country Philippines for the summer.

I've been on a bit of a hiatus due to the time of year and the extra workload/stress it brings on.
I'm picking back up though now that I feel like I can breathe a bit.
However, I did learn about another website called Royal Road that allows you to post web novels and started posting there as well.

I went on (let's call it) pause for a week (my biggest hiatus so far was a month long, so taking a week is huge for me)

The reason being I suddenly became painfully aware of how many places have shadow-banned my work since I started posting a year and a half ago.

And, I'm slow for some things, I needed to take some days to process.

Almost 9 months on hiatus... and it's not about to end soon.
Honestly, I'm just trying to get out of the loooooong artblock and avoid falling into the next one. That would be my main focus right now. I want to somehow get back into the state from years ago, when drawing was fun and doing it every day wasn't a never-ending battle with my brain.

I realized the script of my comic is a mess, and needs heavy reworking if I want this story to be good, but I also lowkey lost interest in it, so rewriting it goes slowly... Also I'm thinking of maybe rebooting TFD as a game instead, but yeah, mostly thinking for now. See you in 2030, maybe. :"")

I'm currently on hiatus right now for a number of reasons. I'm in my final year of college, and also have an on-campus job that I love. It's been really hard trying to balance my classes, work schedule, capstone project, and a comic.

It's the winter holidays now and I'll temporarily be back. After being away from my comic for so long, I started to reevaluate how I feel about it... and it's a mess. There's certain areas of the story where I cringe a tiny bit and plot points I'm not as interested in anymore, but I love my main characters and want to finish the story, even if it's not fantastic.

After my first comic is done, I am taking a long break in order to work on my skills, and hope to return with stronger work.

I am up in the air about going on hiatus, and cleaning up my comic for the new year. Re-drawing and re-booting are two different things. I am trying to work on drawing but I don't know where to start. I need to either work on my anatomy or my story in general. I feel like if I re-boot it that's a lot of work down the drain and a lot of catching up to do page wise,

I'm on a scheduled Hiatus. I do it twice a year, both to get a chance to relax and work on improving my skills. Currently I'm using this hiatus to write and draw a one-shot comic.

Haven't done a proper long-running series in a couple years. Had a couple failed collaborations and failed starts to a few comics, and also been working freelance for the past year (oh also was in uni this whole time lol). Took some time to grind more art and writing stuff, trying not to rush things and repeatably burn out like before. Really enjoyed doing more paintings and illustration stuff this past year, was worth the hiatus I think, even if its going on longer than I'd like . . . but looks like not much longer!

I've been on hiatus in a while and am getting ready to return to posting regularly in January!!...Although I worry I'll have to go on hiatus again more quickly than I'd like because I can't build my buffer up quickly enough. We'll see what happens.

I've been on hiatus for several month now and will be until late Jan/early Feb because my main art computer had an incident involving a flying TV remote and had a slow lingering death. And so far my files and buffer have been totally irretrievable (same to the cloud guys, always save to the cloud). So I will be getting it fixed/getting a new one and redrawing everything lost following the holidays. Thinking positive, at least it's giving me time lots of time to practice traditional drawing and do lots of thumbnailing and plotting further.

I'm just about to enter into a hiatus period. I finished and posted the last two pages of my comic's first season today, which is awesome, but I'm ready for a loooong break before I start the next one.

The most pressing factor at the moment is that I just got selected and accepted for a large commission project that is due in February and will probably take just about as long to finish. Beyond that, I have the basic outline for my comic's second season completed, but there are looooots of details and plot points that need working out, so I'll be focusing on the writing and concept art phase until I'm ready. I have a loose start period of next spring, but we'll see where I am when that rolls around lol.

Other than that... just the usual- my full time job 5x a week, hanging out with friends when I can, playing excessive amounts of Pokemon lately, etc.

Why am I on hiatus?

The answer...I just needed a break. I haven't written a single thing in ages and I'm trying to do new things as well. However, I am still creatively making stories despite both my academical and professional issues that love to pop up out of nowhere. I really want to get back to posting my stories and hopefully make it to premium one day. Dreams don't work unless you do, so I will work hard! (While also sleeping and snuggling under warm blankets )
