Gonna add something here: you can also make your own font. Or you can also write the text out, especially if the artstyle is a bit "messy" or "edgy". It has an interesting effect & it's quiet fitting.

Characters design that are bland. You can tell the audience just by the design what kind of character or person they are. In which kind of enviorment do they live? Are they shy and not conformtable with showing skin or do they like to show off and dress in flashy clothes? Keeping that in mind would improve your character design immensily.
And characters that are all good-looking, white, straight, teenagers or people in their twenties, skinny and middle to upper class. I live in a very small german town that can be hardly considered one and guess what? I see people from different ethnicities, body types, backgrounds and ages on a daily basis by going out.
Please, unless there is a very, VERY good reason not to include a more diverse cast, do it. Do your research if necessary. The world is not just black and white.
