Hello! Call me Eleven (they/them preferred).
I'm brand new to Tapas and excited to check it out. I am a traditionally agented MG author on submission who wants an outlet for some messy adult fiction, and I so here I am!
I used to do a lot of editing and positivity passes back in the days of being a freelance editor, and would love to do a few here to meet some folks in the community, and see what Tapas stories/comics are all about.
Post your links below and I'll get to as many as I can over time. I can't make promises to how many I will be able to do, but I'll try my best to do a good amount!
If anyone has the time or interest to exchange (not necessary for the positivity pass), I'd love to start getting some feedback on my own story as well. It's called Love, Blood, and Other Ways to Sell Your Soul, a (mature) novel about deals with sexy devils and rekindling a lost romance...while journeying through the afterlife.
It's still in its early stages, but feedback would be so helpful in moving forward with it!
“Mikkie, I will get you to the void of the dead, and I will help you find Sky, but in return I need you to promise me one thing: you can never sell your soul. No matter what happens to me, or Sky, or anything we might encounter. Deal?” He was sure looking into my eyes now. So serious. So unyielding.
He knew me too well. He knew I’d do something idiotic like sell my soul in exchange for Sky’s, and to be honest, I didn’t really care if he approved. Sky’s safety was more important than mine. She had a future if she played her cards right.
I wasn’t so sure I did.
What Damien didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him.
“Wonderful,” Damien said, and then before I had a chance to think about what I’d agreed to, Damien pulled me closer and kissed me with all the passion we had in the street behind the bar the night before. I told myself I was too shocked to pull away, but deep down I knew that wasn't the reason I let it continue.
It wasn’t until he released me that it sank in:
Sealing a deal with a kiss.
Did I just make another deal with a devil?
When Mikkie's niece decides to sell her soul in the middle of the night, Mikkie's only help in bringing her back is her half-"devil" ex-boyfriend who disappeared seven years ago (and she never really got over), and the flamboyant (and annoyingly attractive) Lord of the Dead who owns half of their ex's soul. Just a normal holiday break.
