“Yes, this is Scruffy.” Yuma nodded and placed her arms around her as Maedra sobbed like a mother reunited with a lost child. “And he’s saved us... again.”
“You have... tamed a Laichanan?” Calozel was befuddled. “Now I have seen everything.”
“Ex-hero?” The awe in Thunder’s face morphed into one of confusion. “But… no one quits. It’s why we call it the duty that—”
“—cannot be forsworn,” Sam finished for her. “I know, I know. I read all the pamphlets too…”
"Can't we just turn the lights off and eat the candies ourselves?"
"As much as I would love to do that, we can't. Here comes another group, put your smile back on!"
“It’s jammed with the rust.” Sora’s cry was plaintive.
“It won’t budge.” Arden grunted, as he pushed hard.
"What makes you believe that I..." John Miller said before being muffled by the hand of one of the individuals guarding him.
"I will tell you what will make you do it, you fool! Bring out the hostages!" Han said becoming quite impatient.
“Darren, can’t talk. We need to find Jesse’s necklace fast.” Chantel said, until Darren pulled out a gold, chain necklace in front of her.
“I found it on the ground.” Darren said.
“I love you.”
“You don’t love me!”
“I will never stop saying it.”
He could feel it. Thunderous waves pushing against the wreckage left of his boundaries. He shook his head, the pressure building as the waves crashed over him.

“Be quiet!” Maedra scolded her younger sister, and then turned to the chief’s son. “Arden, since we took all this effort, we should search this place... there might be something we can take from all this... this...”
“All this waste, as I said.” Yuma glared at her with the ‘stop mothering me look’ on her flushed face.
“Oh, look at that huge thing.” Sora pointed to a dust covered war hammer that was propped against the far wall.
“That is Diabane craftsmanship.” Eldrek stood up and nodded. “And a mighty weapon it is. Look at the intricate runes. It must be spell cast and soul bound.”
Ian didn’t listen and struggled to free himself but in vain. “What are you doing!?” He fumed.
“Unlocking collar.”
Kye are you alright? Does anything hurt?”
Kye rubbed the back of his neck.
“I would have been fine if you weren’t pulling on my neck the entire time.”
Silvia went to reach for his neck out of concern. She began to brush her hand against his skin gently. Kye took her hand away and smirked.

When she followed his gaze, she tensed. The piece of meat in her mouth turned dry. She coughed and swallowed it down.
Thomas’s attention shifted back to her. Seeing the fear in her eyes, his free hand reached over to squeeze her wrist. He kept his voice low and reassuring. “Don’t worry. Everything’s fine. It’s probably some loser wanting to rant.”
“What’s happening?” Hari cried in bewilderment.
“I... the hammer, it suddenly felt incredibly heavy.” Arden said in embarrassment. “I could not hold on...”

“The rounder aircrafts have homing control. If something happens to the rounder and the plane is still functioning, HQ can fly the ship back to the hangar automatically. No pilot needed.”
Lance’s eyes widened and Corina frowned.
“So, you think something happened to the rounder? I don’t understand, why would that make you not want to contact your superior?”
“When you get a chance, come to the Qaarn Labs facility. We need to talk,” he whispered. “But come as yourselves. Without the suits.” He winked at them and then turned and walked away.
“I knew it!” Sully said quietly. “He does know our identities!”
