“The rounder aircrafts have homing control. If something happens to the rounder and the plane is still functioning, HQ can fly the ship back to the hangar automatically. No pilot needed.”
Lance’s eyes widened and Corina frowned.
“So, you think something happened to the rounder? I don’t understand, why would that make you not want to contact your superior?”
“When you get a chance, come to the Qaarn Labs facility. We need to talk,” he whispered. “But come as yourselves. Without the suits.” He winked at them and then turned and walked away.
“I knew it!” Sully said quietly. “He does know our identities!”

“How am I supposed to do that?” Elise asked.
“Right now? You ain’t.” He replaced the knife in its sheathe. “If you run into a Blight while we’re out here, and I somehow don’t see it, you have one job, and only one: scream as loud as you can.”
That brown eye squinted slightly, before widening, “The pretty boy.”
She nodded, her curls bouncing up and down, “Yes. The pretty boy. The one who took your eye.”
“I surely hope so. I don’t want to add any more to my list of ‘Embarrassing Moments in High School’.” River said.
“So, it has a list?” Leon smirked.

“What the heck is wrong with you, lady?!” Jesse shouted at her, grabbing Chantel’s hand and pulling her close to him.
The women just cracked a sinister smile at them, “You must Mr. Travolo and his buddies’ pretty, new, little muse. Tell that bastard I want that Miracle Drink!”
“What is going on?”
I put on my counsellor voice, my mask that helped me to stay calm as my heart felt close to exploding.
“Something incredible, my dear. Something that is going to change the lives of millions forever. I don’t have the ability to explain it here though. I need you to come with me. You need to see it for yourself.”
“Any news of Dacia?” She asked Nesmir, using Esamus to speak.
“None since we left, a day ago.” He looked up from her unconscious self at her. “It is so strange to speak to you this way.”
“That’s the brain.” We remained silent for a moment, I refrained from saying the first thing that came to mind was ‘huh… gross.’ and looked at her slightly traumatized and numbed self.
“You could say that… He’s all over you! Haha!” I tried to lighten the mood with a joke.
This happens in a chapter later in the story, my releases will need to catch up.
Episode 4
“Are you of good health today your Majesty?” I ask with a calm voice. His face remained stoic, like he didn’t hear me at all.
“Hmm.”
So you can’t even be bothered to say a single word!?
“So, is this a date?” I blurted out.
Jack turned his head my way and smiled. “Do you want it to be?”
I looked up to thank him, only to find that he was barely an inch away from me. “Thanks.”
Aryan took a good look at my face, an unreadable expression across it. “You’ve got to be the klutziest, powerful woman I’ve ever met.”

“Walk away from this kid.”
“What?”
“You bailout, let me take care of my business and you get to live for another day.”
“And by “business” you kill the runaways?”
“Exactly. Rookies like you shouldn’t be on the battlefield. You’re just asking yourself to be killed on site. Walk away from this if you value your life. Take the smart choice if I were you kid.”

Blood-red eyes honed on him and his sister’s face darkened, her teeth bared as her expression contorted into a demonic visage, “I MADE A PROMISE! I WON’T LET HIM DIE!”
“THEN WHY ARE YOU JUST WATCHING?!”

“-James?”
“-What?”
“-Could you please turn and just tell me what you see?”
“-Is it behind me, just now?”
She shook her head slowly. “-I just wanna be sure I do not see things that aren’t there. Could you please turn around?” She repeats.
James turns his neck: “-No way!”
“-That’s a television, right?”
“-Yeah, and it looks fancy. Wanna go check?”
Katherine nods her head while walking in the direction of the device that appeared from pure nothingness. After a couple of steps in silence, they approached the device. It was a plasma TV. No connection cord: “- You think it works?”
Next to the vast plasma, there was an ugly floral sofa. James found the remote and directed it to the black screen: “-Let’s check!”
_“-Fuck it does!”; Katherine and James look at the screen. They saw immobile images of streets, families having their meal, the ocean, airplanes flying over a town, crowds walking, open offices, nights in forests. Everything seems frozen. _
“-Is it broken?” asks Katherine.
“-It looks almost like photos? Each channel is the same.”; James was intrigued. He was zapping the plasma. Each channel would show a different part of the world, but nothing moves, no sound, but it looked terribly alive.
