Oh I've been waiting for this. . .

"Kyler, you're a spirit whisper, right? Help me! I know you can hear me!" his eyes snap towards me as he continues to hold my dead body. I take a step back as three women rush forward; they are wearing nursing uniforms and are all taken aback by my --- dead body. They rush to heal me but nothing is happening. I am dead.

Kyler glances from my body to me, and I motion for him to follow me to somewhere where no one can notice us, or, well, him. Kyler stammers something to the nurses as I almost float towards the end of the hospital highway and through the doors. Kyler follows behind me and we end up on the stairs of the infirmary entrance.

"What the (fudge)? You're dead, you're really dead."

"No (shoot)! What do I do? I'm not stuck in this body forever, right? Am I not supposed to float to the clouds and meet the gods?"

"How am I supposed to know? I've never spoken to a dead person before," I let out a staggering breath and turn around and sit on the top stair. I want to cry, but there were no tears left to fall. Only then do Kyler and I look at each other when we hear the familiar words.

“I am Dainzel.” She answered as she rose to her feet. “Outcast of Jadvaraem.”

“Your name is known to me, Dainzel.” The Alvaine ranger nodded. “A healer and scout, not too long ago. I am Shenzel, captain of the rangers.”

“Are they more important to you than your own kind?” Shenzel said coldly and waved at her to follow eastward.

“My own kind banished me, and these simple people will fall prey to the Giagrein.” Dainzel stood where she was, a wave of anger rising behind her ears.

One from an episode in the next story arc set to release next Wednesday.

The eel pointed a clawed finger at me. "You will suffer for your crimes child."

"I already do. Gentlemen, I want fish for dinner. Do not disappoint me," I said.

"yer ruttish, dull-minded pirate!" cried out an infuriated, plumpish bystander, his accent so thick and heavy that Bjorn had trouble comprehending.

"I am a privateer, thank you very much! I may be a crook, but I am a licenced crook - I have standards." Bjorn protested.

“You owe me a conversation.” Hunter whispered to me, taking a step closer than I wanted him to be. “Do not forget what I have done for you.”

I nearly growled as he reminded me of the past. Why can we never forget the difficulties life has thrown at us?

“Consider us even after this then.” I took a deep breath as I realized what a huge mistake I was most likely making. “Give me some space. I need to get her home.”

“Really?” I asked, wide-eyed.

“Oh, yeah.” He nodded, his eyes glancing towards mine. There was a light in them as he reminisced about his previous goddess. “So, instead, she decided it would be better to make a new type of fire that the mortals could control. She worked tirelessly for days before she finally figured it out. It was a different color, but at least, the humans could put it out with regular water whenever they felt the need.”

"If you refuse this task I will rip out your heart and throw it into the East Sea. Then I will throw your liver into the West Sea, and stretch your corpse and bowels across the land to tie them together. Do you understand?”

“I understand fully, father.”

Bonus lines:

“Is this some sort of criminal organization? A thieves guild? Assassins?”

“Stop acting so surprised. Did you think someone who is only known by the nickname ‘Nighthawk’ would be a good upstanding citizen?”

“Are you that scared?” The zirka snickered. “And I was not sneaking up on you; it was you who wandered into my hunting grounds.”
“Oh, I beg for your excuse; did I scare off a flock of anacondas with my stomping?” Chris said sarcastically.

“You shouldn’t try to make me feel better, Kai. I don’t deserve it.”

“Everyone deserves forgiveness, Samara.” He said soothingly. “Otherwise, why would I be here?” he paused, his hands in front of him, rather than on my shoulders. “Samara, I don’t know what Soren said to you. Although, I can guess. But I just want you to know, that I don’t blame you… for Nolan.”

Hurry up, Des.” Hunter whispered to me from across the room.

I simply stared at him as I tried not to squeeze Penn’s arm. “Take her home please?”

9 days later

A heat rose in her cheeks and her chest, “Do…do you want me?”

“Your mouth. I want your mouth mouth that has snarled at me, shouted at me, screamed at me-”

"Anyway, that girl is way out of your league, no matter how you look at it” Wren concluded, focussing on the issue at hand. :nerd:

“Everybody is in everybody's league. Heck, leagues don’t even exist!” Milun countered. “She’s a person just as I am.” :triumph:

:sparkles: (Chapter 5)

From an unspecified chapter:

I choked out my words against the hand boring against my neck, “You vile monster… Do as you please, but I will stop at nothing to bring you down with me.”.

“Your light cannot save you here. You and I are now the same. Ruination will take us both.”

“Ugh. Whisper, dude.” She paused before she said, “You were out late, huh?” When I glanced over at her, she removed one hand from her head to gesture to my clothes. “Getting it, I see.”

I couldn’t help but crack up at Petite’s thought process. “Non. Just… couldn’t sleep.”

He squinted at me as he approached slowly. “Yes.” He hissed harshly. “I saw that human-curse machine. I don’t care who she looks like, Kai. She killed Nolan, and I will avenge him. You can either help me or get out of my way. But be warned, I won’t allow you to help her any further.”

“And how exactly are you to avenge Nolan?” I inquired, making sure my face did not express anything beyond curiosity. “Let’s be honest here. If she took down Nolan, who has never lost at anything in his entire existence, what makes you think you have a chance?”

"No-Name?" A-Feng repeated, looking uncertain.
"No-Name. I don't know who forged it, but it was passed down to me after being carried by my father. Since its creator is unknown, as are the other owners, why not 'No-Name"."

(this chapter isn't up yet, but this is one of the first interactions between the main character and others)

“No.” I said, walking forward and attempting to push him back towards the den. Max chuckled, and I glared in response.

“What?” He asked, “After the events of today I think I'm allowed to find humor in someone treating an actual dragon like a stubborn horse.”

“Oh! You’re curious? Well then, how about a having duel with me? Our fight will in Uptaker style. The loser does whatever the winner wants in addition to giving up mana.”

Hearing Alist saying so, he agreed.

“Fine. Even so, I’ll still win!” He then charged forward.

First date (they don't know it though)

"You’re not my sugar daddy." Without waiting for a reply, Taren grabbed Ryvan’s tray. "It's my treat.”

However, as the black-haired student proceeded to pay, Ryvan couldn't help but see him swipe his student ID. Clearly, the person in the photo wasn’t Taren, unless he had recently undergone plastic surgery. “That’s not your card, is it? Who did you steal it from?”

:sparkles: Chapter 8

“Do you have any other pets?” asked Tobi.

“Oh, yes.” Gage’s face lit up, a smile spreading across his face. “There’s Tinker, Aloysius, and Cee. They’re desert foxes. Winston Stanford is my swamp weasel. Farn is a dwarf Itherian tree cat. Tree cats belong in the wild, but Farn has too many health problems. He’d die. I have a special permit to keep him. Dezmodeus is a very bad dog. He’s a mutt. He was rescued from owners who trained him to fight and he tries to destroy everything. He ate Mrs. Greenslade’s purse and pooped in her shoe.”

I did 3 lines for context. This will be from the 4th chapter of my upcoming Novel Witchy Wanderings. First chapter releases this Sunday.

"You should listen to your friend, Joshua. Also, I found some lovely groomsmen magazines-"

"Mǔqīn!" Joshua exclaimed badly blushing.

"What? Kris is nice man. Good for my son. Settle down and adopt some grandbabies for me or have your friend Angel be surrogate. I'm not getting any younger. Your siblings already have children." Josh's mother scolded while pouring all of us tea. The three of us were all beat red and didn't know how to react to josh's mother.

Chris didn’t even have time to roll his eyes, let alone express his opinion on the contrived problem, when the table blinked and was replaced by the image of Dr. François, which announced an incoming call.

“I’m listening,” answered Tau.

“Tau! Where is Chris!?” The speaker yelled demandingly in Madame’s voice.
